Playfly Sports is looking for a Financial Analyst, Business Development to join our team at any of our Playfly market offices.
The Financial Analyst, Business Development will be a key part of Playfly Sports growth across high school, collegiate, Olympic, and professional sports. The person in this role will lead financial modeling and analysis for new Business Development and will work directly with sales leads for each business unit to manage financial analysis for both new and existing properties. This role will also serve as a liaison between Playfly Sports Properties, Business Development, and Playfly Finance teams, advising on new property budgets, historical performance analysis, and timing of contractual payments.
WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH
- Act as the financial lead for Business Development division by preparing budgets, development proformas, and any other excel based modeling needs as they arise
- Collaborate with cross-functional leaders to create comprehensive financial models for potential collegiate, professional sports and entertainment clients, including a competitive financial offering for clients
- Create and maintain project win plans, general client acquisition strategy, and pursuit tracking via Microsoft Kore
- Track the ROI of various endeavors and conduct research and competitive intelligence to ensure Playfly is highly competitive in pursuit of new business
- Review and analyze financial reports and contracts, including but not limited to operating statements, proformas, MMR contracts, etc.
- Review, understand, and advise on due diligence materials for new business proposals
- Review, understand, and advise on new MMR contracts to ensure for accurate financial information
- Prepare presentations or other written or visual reports for senior management and the Board of Directors
- Prepare forecasts and analyze trends in general business conditions
- Conduct competitive analysis to identify trends in the industry and maintain an accurate account of competitor contract end dates
- Analyze competitor strengths and weaknesses to develop strategies for securing contracts
- Work closely with business unit leaders to understand their strategic objectives and to align Business Development efforts with the organization's overarching goals
WHAT YOU’LL BRING
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, marketing, communications, sports, sales, or related field
- 5-7 years of relevant experience in finance, investment banking, FP&A, or similar
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Experience with preparing budgets, financial modeling and analyzing large data sets
- Ability to work independently and take initiative, as well as work well with a team utilizing a high level of energy and enthusiasm
- Ability to present concepts in new ways and from new perspectives
- Ability to promote change by communicating to and involving others
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple competing priorities simultaneously and drive projects to completion
- Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to drive goals and results while maintaining quality and attention to critical details
- A thorough understanding of the competitors in the market; ability to develop and implement effective strategies to win new business
- Entrepreneurial spirit and a positive attitude
- Strong organization skills and attention to detail
TRAVEL, LIFTING, PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- This position is primarily sedentary and will take place in a quiet office setting
- Occasional travel may be required
