The Financial Analyst III assists the Associate Administrator in providing financial oversight of the daily business operations for the division. Responsible for the completion of financial and statistical analysis on various service line reports and programs for 11 clinical practices in the Division of Internal Medicine, including two multi-disciplinary sites.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Assists in preparing revenue and expense projections and budgets pertaining to divisional clinical and administrative activities.
- Assists in reviewing and tracking all requests to purchase, requests for payment, cost transfers and travel reimbursements.
- Helps ensure transactions do not exceed budgeted funds or University guidelines for approved expenditures.
- Preparation and explanation of monthly budget and operational variance reports and JMG Dashboard reports. Presents variance and Dashboard reports monthly.
- Tracking and analysis of provider metrics including patient visit volume, work RVUs, panel size, effort, etc. Creates and distributes monthly reports to physicians and APPs to help ensure productivity and incentive targets are met for the fiscal year.
- Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson .
OTHER FUNCTIONS AND COMPETENCIES needed in addition to Essential Functions:
- Ensures accuracy of charge codes used and submits Interdepartmental Transfer (IDT) requests when necessary.
- Attends and successfully completes EMR training
- Remains proficient and knowledgeable of EMR - attend JUP update training sessions.
- Serves as back-up for Template Building in EPIC.
- Assists with faculty and APP on-boarding and collating of data for hiring staff.
- Assists office and practice managers with monitoring expenses and other metrics.
- Assists faculty and staff with Concur reimbursement reports.
- Delegated to approve payroll as needed
- Delegated to approve p-card transactions and Concur reimbursement requests
- Processes payables and receivables, providing back up and assistance to practice managers as needed
- Manages ad hoc operational projects as assigned
- Proficient use of QLIK Sense, PeopleSoft ASCENT and HR, Labor Distribution System, Pinnacle Phone Billing, Concur, and Excel.
- Communicates effectively with patients and supervisor.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
EDUCATIONAL/TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's Degree required. Accounting/Finance or Healthcare Administration major preferred.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum 3 years experience in healthcare setting required.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite programs: Excel, Word and Powerpoint as well as Outlook Calendaring. EPIC experience preferred. General knowledge of medical billing and coding preferred.
