Finance Specialist

Our client has an opening for the role of Finance Specialistposition open in their Nashville, Knoxville, Memphis, DC, Atlanta, or New York office. This will be a Hybrid role.

The Finance Specialist will support the Accounting management team with the development and dissemination of analytics that facilitate budgeting/forecasting, and financial analysis initiatives. This role reports directly to the Senior Director of Finance with dotted line to the Controller. This position is highly visible and is part of the Accounting management team.

Responsibilities:

· Provide financial analytics, construct budgeting/forecasting models and develop profitability metrics for firm strategy initiatives and partner with the accounting management team in the communication/messaging and dissemination of this data across all levels.

· Participate in the annual budget and standard rate review process and provide analysis and recommendations as requested by firm management.

· Work with the firm’s technology and accounting team to develop and deploy systems such as dashboards, document automation, and workflow technology to support the firm’s initiatives.

· Perform legal service research and analysis on large volumes of current and historical data to provide insights on future outcomes.

· Work closely with the Strategic Analysis and Pricing team to facilitate good collaboration in furtherance of Accounting goals and initiatives.

· Assist with establishing a centralized reporting function to provide skillful, consistent and efficient analytics.

Skills and Qualifications:

· 2-4 years’ experience working in a legal services environment.

· Strong analytical skills.

· Ability to communicate to multiple audiences with varying degrees of financial knowledge.

· Must be self-motivated, adaptable, detail-oriented and well organized.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong awareness of what type of communication is appropriate for what audience.

· Comfortable learning and adapting to new technology and business processes.
Education and Technology Proficiency Requirements:

· Bachelor’s degree is required. Preferred fields of study include accounting, finance, economics, business, management information systems (MIS), data science or mathematics.

· Knowledge and experience of firm accounting software (Aderant/Elite) and relational databases and SQL, preferred.

· Ability to work with volumes of data and demonstrate proficiency (advanced formula, data visualization, pivot table experience) with Microsoft Office Suite, primarily Excel and PowerBI.

· Knowledge of Iridium’s pricing module and budget application, a plus.

MUST have law firm experience.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $90,000.00 per year
