Job Description:
The Professional Development Program (PDP) of the University at Albany's Rockefeller College seeks a service-minded individual who is committed to performing high-quality work to fill an EIP Education Specialist position within PDP's Department of Early Childhood Training in Albany, NY.
Description of Duties:
Under the direction of the Department Manager or designee, this position evaluates the training events receiving Educational Incentive Program (EIP) funding through a quality assurance process to ensure they meet required program standards. Reviews EIP applications to determine eligibility and issue scholarship awards when applicable. Job duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Review events for alignment with EIP Event Review Criteria including event objectives, course content and duration to determine appropriateness.
  • Provide technical support and feedback to trainers and training organizations that have submitted events for review.
  • Review courses and training organizations for alignment with NYS Non-Credit Bearing Distance Learning Criteria. Correspond with Distance Learning Organizations regarding submissions.
  • Update Distance Learning course information as necessary on the ECETP website.
  • Maintain trainer profiles and provide technical assistance to trainers.
  • Assist in the development and revision of event approval criteria including procedure manual, content, editing, proofreading, and formatting.
  • Complete a detailed review of EIP program scholarship applications for compliance with all program requirements and process applications accordingly pursuant to that review.
  • Complete required reports and documentation as needed.
  • Assist in program evaluation and analysis.
  • Other duties as assigned to meet contractual obligations.

Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Current Research Foundation, UAlbany, or SUNY employee.
  • Bachelor's degree from a college or university accredited by a USDOE, or an internationally recognized accrediting organization.
  • One year of experience in adult education, training, or related field.
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles and the framework for effective training goals and objectives.
  • Knowledge of NYS OCFS childcare regulations.
  • Excellent oral and written English communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • Applicants must demonstrate an ability to develop inclusive and equitable relationships within our diverse campus community.
  • Applicants must demonstrate an ability to support diversity, equity, access, inclusion, and belonging, relative to their role.
  • Ability to work both independently and as a team member.
  • Able to coordinate and prioritize multiple tasks effectively.
  • Proficiency in use of computers and software, including Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree from a college or university accredited by a USDOE, or an internationally recognized accrediting organization in an appropriate field.
  • Experience in the field of early childhood education or a related area.
  • Familiarity with the EIP, MAT and H&S Programs.
  • Familiarity with Core Body of Knowledge and the Early Care and Learning Guidelines.

Additional Information:
Salary Range: $50,000 - $54,562
