Job Title: Felony Specialty Courts/Pre-Trial Fairness Act Administrative Assistant
FLSA: Non-exempt
Full Time (35 Hours a Week) Salary: $36,400 / Year B.O.E.
GENERAL SUMMARY: Provide secretarial duties for Assistant State's Attorneys.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Prepare, copy, and file with the circuit clerk, notices, violations of probation, motions, supplemental discovery, subpoenas, writs, proofs of service and subpoenas duces tecum;
2. Request police reports, lab reports, court files, certified copies, and other documents from other agencies;
3. Notify probation offices and other witnesses of court dates and/or changes in court dates;
4. Copy reports,discs, USB flash drive and photographs;
5. Run criminal histories and driving abstracts as requested by ASA;
6. Answer telephone calls and inquiries for assigned ASAs;
7. Ability to prioritize multiple filings and duties based on expiration date and urgency;
8. Confirming addition of court dates to circuit clerk records;
9. Close files, monitor email, mail paper correspondence;
10. Other duties as assigned;
ALTERNATING BI-WEEKLY SCHEDULE:
The candidate’s schedule will alternate biweekly, Sunday – Thursday with Friday, Saturday and Sunday off. Monday – Friday with Saturday off. Sunday hours: 6:00 am – 2:00 pm, Monday – Friday, 8:30 am – 4:30 pm. The candidate will periodically be asked to start at 6:00 am during the week when coverage is needed.
