Job Description:The Eshraghi lab studies how bacteria use virulence factors to evade detection by the immune system and cause disease. We use highly pathogenic bacteria as models to understand how bacteria inject toxins into the host and to characterize the pathways that underlie pathogenesis. Our goal is to discover these bacterial pathways and toxins so that we can develop countermeasures to prevent and treat infections.
We are seeking an undergraduate student who is excited to learn about how microbiology and molecular genetics. The undergraduate student will support ongoing experiments in the laboratory by preparing reagents and microbiological media and performing other tasks to keep the lab organized and working efficiently.
Candidates should be aware that the laboratory is located in Veterinary Academic Building on the edge of campus and that they will be expected to travel to the College of Veterinary Medicine on the days that they will be in the lab.

Expected Salary:$12-$16 per hour
Minimum Requirements:Students must have Federal Work Study award.
Preferred Qualifications:No prior experience is necessary, but competitive candidates will be highly organized, efficient, meticulous, and hard-working. Furthermore, we value curiosity about science and a positive attitude. Eligibility for Federal Work-study is required.
