This leadership role will report directly into the Enterprise LoB headquarters organization, but will be embedded in the Americas Federal Sales Organization as a trusted advisor to the leadership team. You will be a thought leader in the federal accounts space (including Civilian Agencies, the Intelligence Community, as well as the Department of Defense) and develop the 3-year federal strategy for Pure.
In addition, this high impact role will be a transformation leader to drive innovation and new growth opportunities working closely with Pure’s channel and alliances team, marketing, product and engineering, as well as professional services.
You will be a seasoned sales and Business Development professional with a proven track record of federal account penetration and the associated established relationships, deeply understanding agency missions and their cultures, budget processes, key programs and initiatives, and areas of influence including system integrators. As a member of the Enterprise LoB headquarters team, you will be a champion for the Federal Business working back across the corporate leadership team to ensure we are well positioned for accelerated growth.
- Develop the 3-year federal strategy for Pure and ensure that the Federal Business leadership team, enterprise headquarters organization, marketing, partner, product and engineering teams are aligned to support the mission.
- Help shape and implement an annual Federal Business strategy and be a force multiplier leading from the front working with Pure’s field teams.
- Be a champion for the Federal Business within the Enterprise LoB team to drive the transformation, ensuring new solutions and offerings are aligned, enablement plans are supported, and key blockers are resolved.
- Develop and drive the execution of Business cases for Federal certification and compliance efforts.
- Stay up-to-date on changes in the federal procurement landscape, including new regulations and laws, budget and funding changes, and actively pursue competitive grants and funds
- Actively engage and manage a pursuit pipeline, including actively establishing relationships with federal system integrators and peers.
- Assist with the development of market/competitive intelligence, acting as our thought leader and expert.
- 15+ years successful track record in Federal Business Development, field sales/sales leadership, consulting experience.
- Deep knowledge in a variety of Federal Compliance issues: FedRAMP, FISMA, NIST, CMMC
- Direct experience closing large, complex agreements/deals in the Federal Business with mid to senior level executives is highly desirable
- Experience in driving field sales transformation initiatives tied to new product areas, vertical segments, and solution sales motions
- Possess a blend of Business and technical savvy that includes the ability to build and drive impact with teams across multiple disciplines
- Cross functional team management and organizational skills, influence without authority, including senior management
- Experience in SaaS, Cloud, or core infrastructure technologies
- High bias for action and execution with strong drive to achieve results
- Analytical and data-driven
- Possess excellent written and verbal communication; can communicate concisely and persuasively
- Bachelor’s degree (Masters Degree a plus) and/or equivalent industry field experience required
