Description
The position will be remote (United States candidates only) and occasional travel to Dallas, Houston, Denver will be required.

Essential Duties
- Serve as the trusted advisor to Family Office and its companies on strategic tax and financial matters
- Interact closely with companies to provide innovative tax planning, consulting, and compliance expertise
- Be the sole advisor on tax compliance for multi-generational family
- Provide analyses of financial, gift, trust, estate, income tax issues
- Maintain S Corp stock basis calculations
- Sales/use tax compliance (both for customer invoices and vendor bills)
- Prepare quarterly estimates of taxes due
- Guide HR on payroll tax compliance
- Advise executives on tax consequences
- Respond to IRS and state notices
- Tax audit representative
Lead strategic projects:
- §174 readiness - get us organized for R&D tax credit
- Transfer pricing
Prepare a variety of returns:
- Personal Income Tax (1040)
- Corporate Income Tax (1120, 1120S)
- Franchise tax returns (TX)
- Sales tax returns (FL, MD, MN, NJ, NY, WI, TX, CT, OH)
- Property tax returns
Requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
- 5+ years tax experience
- Active CPA
Preferred / Nice To Have:
- Exposure to Canadian and Australian tax returns, transfer pricing, GST
- Masters degree in taxation
- GL accounting experience in NetSuite
- Exposure to SaaS, security, real estate, ranching, and beverage/CPG industries a plus
- Stock option experience
