Family Fun Center Coordinator
Reports to: Program Director

Starting Salary Range: $15.50/hour
Hours: 20-25 per week
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Family Fun Center Coordinator is responsible for creating fun, adventure-filled, memorable experiences that matter to members and their children. The position will implement and coordinate programs such as : Teen Nights, Kids Night Out, Schools Day Out, Family Fun Nights, Birthday Parties and any other specific activities/events relative to the position.
This position will also oversee the Family Fun Center area and Snack Shack (Concessions) as well staff for this department.
QUALIFICATIONS:
● Related experience
● Available the following hours: Monday-Friday afternoons; Weekends and Special Events, Schools Day Out --- Summer Hours may vary--
● Within 30 days of hire includes completion of: Child Abuse Prevention; Working with Program Volunteers; CPR; First Aid; AED; Blood borne Pathogens.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
● Instructs, directs and supervises family program activities to meet the needs of the community and fulfill YMCA objectives.
● Hire, train, schedule and direct staff and volunteers as needed.
● Establishes new family and youth program activities and expands family programs within the community.
* Arrange for school visits and special events (Post Proms) and scheduling staff accordingly.
● Be a positive role model for youth in our community.
● Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with community organizations.
● Coordinates use of facilities with YMCA Directors for program activities and events.
● May assist in YMCA fundraising activities and special events.
● Models relationship-building skills in all interactions; responds to all member and community inquiries and complaints in a timely manner.
● Serves as the liaison between the YMCA and Family members
● Responsible for ensuring safety of all participants and delivery of safe programs
● Performs other duties as assigned.
● Must provide excellent customer service, must have organizational skills, able to handle multiple tasks and understand the mission and purpose of the YMCA.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
● Oversee the Family Fun Center area, including the Super Gym, Snack Shack, Racquetball Courts and Birthday Party Rooms keeping them clean, attractive and free of danger for all members and participants.
● Responsible for ordering concession items, family center supplies, and keeping quarterly inventory.
● Manages relationships with vendors and works to develop relationships with new vendors as necessary.
● Represents the association and maintains its relationships with other organizations and groups in the community.
● Order appropriate supplies as needed to replace dated or damaged items.
● Responsible for posting appointments to calendar and specific rooms. Making the management team aware of any conflicts and follow through until resolved.
*Assist Program Department as needed
*Responsible for completing contracts, posting to calendars, collecting fees and providing successful after hour facility rentals.

● The development and implementation of current and new family programs to help drive the growth of membership.
● Kids in our community have a safe place to go and participate in programs that focus on youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility.
● The development and retention of a capable team of volunteers and staff fully trained to achieve the objectives of the association, as particularly related to the goals and strategies of the Family Center.
● Sound management, expense controls, and maintenance of the Family Center.
