Idaho National Laboratory's (INL) Site Maintenance group is seeking forward-thinking professionals interested in exploring a career as a Facility Manager! Our team works an on-site 4x10 schedule located at our Central Facilities Area with every Friday off.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Responsible for safe and effective operations and maintenance of buildings and facilities in a mission ready state.
  • Maintain the building, roads, grounds and parking lot environment in a manner to meet tenant needs, code driven requirements, and contractor mandated conditions.
  • Initial point of contact for the performance, functional needs, and safety of all buildings and facilities under their cognizance.
  • Interact with management, peers, program representatives, and tenants effectively within the four major areas associated with facility management (leadership, financial control, project management and operations/maintenance).
  • Ensure buildings are in a ready state in accordance with expectations and approved laboratory standards.
  • Ensure railroad main line is kept in a ready state for nuclear rail shipments.
  • Work with facility operations, project integrator, crafts, subcontractors, and construction management regarding performing work in assigned buildings and associated areas in a professional manner.
  • Review, approve, and release all service requests for facilities and systems.
  • Promote and implement building management policies, procedures, and methods related to building service and performance measures.
  • Work in concert with crafts personnel and their supervision to resolve building service problems related to HVAC, plumbing, electrical, repairs, alterations, equipment operators, laborers, and other services.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of the PM program by quantitatively identifying impact failures while establishing and maintaining an exceedingly high degree of interaction with tenants and programmatic customers through positive productive communication and problem resolution efforts.
  • Coordinate Demolition and Dismantle projects with project lead.
  • Generate, review, and seek concurrence from the manager for plans detailing the operation, maintenance, and facility modification efforts projected for each fiscal year.
  • Provide support for occurrence reporting, issue identification, and resolution.
  • Conduct building inspections and perform management observations.
  • Maintain rotational on-call availability in support emergent activities or events.
  • Function as the supervisor backup to the craft foreperson when work scope and schedule demands dictate as determined by manager.
  • Instruct others, when called upon, in all phases of work.
  • Maintain information on time sheets and other records.
  • Perform work to proper work control and clearly document and record work that performed.

 

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree and 8 years relevant experience; or master's degree and 6 years relevant experience; or a PhD and 4 years relevant experience; or a 16 years of relevant experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy "L" clearance, which requires US Citizenship.

Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license from any US state, territory or district for the duration of employment.

Candidate must possess a strong bias for action, be a self-starter with initiative, exceptional interpersonal skills (both written and oral), and the ability to manage competing priorities.

Demonstrated proficiency in computer applications and business systems such as Microsoft Office and e-mail programs.

Must be able to obtain and maintain LO/TO Facility Area Supervisor qualification within four months of assignment.

Must be capable of satisfactorily completing facility specific, continuous and professional development training

Must be capable of obtaining and maintaining medical qualifications so as not to limit satisfaction of the minimum requirements defined in this document.

Preferred Requirements:

1-year prior supervisory experience.

Knowledge of methods, processes, and competency in areas of safety and environmental compliance including knowledge of associated federal, state, and company regulations.

Proven experience working and communicating with staff, engineers, management, and internal/external customers.

Experience with facility management processes and procedures.

Experience working with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (P6, Asset Suite, Maximo).

A working understanding of safety regulations and International Building Codes.

Certified as a Facility Management Professional (IFMA) or equivalent.

Certified as a Sustainability Facility Professional (IFMA) or equivalent.

Experience/background in Information Technology (IT) and/or Information Management (IM)

Job Information

Salary Grade PR0400: 210 ($93,492 - $154,212)
