- Consult with the Chief Financial Officer or designee, and keep them informed
- Work effectively as a member of the management team
- Analyze and coordinate a wide variety of complex operations; organize and direct others; maintain a high level of commitment to the completion of all tasks
- Manage district-owned properties, and manage facility use program(s)
- Participate in long-range planning for facilities needs, take leadership role as assigned; develop reviews and maintain short-range and long-range planning for maintenance functions of the district
- Manage an appropriate risk management program (not limited to): security and preservation of assets, safety of staff and pupils (including being an advisory member of safety committee(s), implementation of risk reduction techniques & identification of risk to be assigned to a third party
- Assist in the coordination of safety and sanitation requirements, maintaining the necessary safety files and compliance data
- Assist as necessary with record keeping, testing and reporting: asbestos, lead/water, radon gas, sanitation, Oregon worker safety inspections, etc.
- Manage in conjunction with the Chief Financial Officer, property/casualty/liability insurance, filing claims and administration, accident investigation and reporting (ESD Legal staff will handle Tort claims and case preparation).
- Directly assist supervisors in the formulation of respective budgets in regards to facility and operations costs
- Lead and assist other supervisors in special projects within their departments
- Assist In the coordination of maintenance programs and schedules to the various sites and schools
- Establish custodial services standardization/accountability (not limited to): cleaning products, techniques and equipment, preventative maintenance program development/implementation, develop evaluation criteria and assist in evaluations
- Implement, interpret, review and propose changes to policy and procedure that regulates program functions within area of responsibility; assist in formulating policies to be presented to the Board of Directors
- Interpret and comply with laws, rules and policies that pertain to public school district operations
- Serve as liaison between the Chief Financial Officer or designee in the area of complaints, recommendations, etc.
- Read, understand and carry out oral and written directions
- Demonstrate flexibility in dealing with changing conditions
- Operate standard office equipment including a computer and software
- Accurately transfer, record information, materials and money as required by the position
- Establish and maintain accurate record keeping systems
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, parents, staff, and community

- Coordinate the maintenance and repair of HDESD fleet vehicles
- Fulfill other related duties as assigned
