Regis Jesuit High School is seeking a Facility Engineer to begin immediately. Posting will remain open until filled.
The Facility Engineer is responsible for the performance and general maintenance of the facilities and building systems on campus, ensuring the buildings are maintained and operating in a manner consistent with efficiency and cost effectiveness. This position will partner with the Superintendent to oversee construction and maintenance projects to minimize school interruption. This is a full-time, year-round position with benefits. The starting salary is $65,000, commensurate with experience.

Facility Maintenance:
- Respond to requests on repair issues including electrical, lighting, plumbing, HVAC, windows, walls, flooring and roofing.
- Assist with preventive maintenance tasks as it relates to the respective building and its equipment.
- Assist with exterior as well as interior physical inspection of the buildings - reporting deficiencies.
- Replace lamps and or ballasts in common areas, common corridors, stairwells, restrooms, janitorial, mechanical, and electrical rooms.
- Install plumbing fixtures, such as drinking fountains, faucets, toilets, urinals, water heaters.
- Replace damaged or broken ceiling tiles as needed.
- Inspect, maintain, and repair as needed all access doors into the buildings insuring proper use and function. Replace door handles/locks as needed.
- Maintain inventory and organization of engineering shop and building plans.
- Respond in person to work orders. Maintains records of customer interactions and transactions, recording details including actions taken.
- Prioritizes and manages daily workload to ensure successful completion.
- Responsible for the timely and accurate completion of assigned maintenance work orders and preventive maintenance tasks for multiple properties and reporting
- Serve as point of contact with annual fire, health, and City of Aurora inspections.
- Partner with Safety Director with fire and safety drills.
- Monitor third party contractors and report progress.
- Support snow removal efforts
Training & Documentation:
- Create updates to department procedures.
- Maintain building designs and "as built" drawings to ensure accurate and current department files
- Maintain project responsibilities and update project tracking files
- Monitor and document budget expenses and communicate with Director of Facilities Management regarding expenses, income, and budgets
Consultation and Committees:
- Serve on the Capital Projects Committee and other committees when requested
- Participate and support the department through individual communication, consultations with the Director of Facilities Management in department meetings
- Consult with personnel who rent the facilities to non-Regis Jesuit groups to ensure proper monitoring of school use.
- Participate with other consultants and committees, as assigned
Requirements (Education, Experience, Required/Preferred Skills)
- Bachelor's degree preferred or at least three years of experience in facility management or a related field.
- Ability to communicate in a positive and professional manner with students, volunteers, employees and contractors.
- Use proper equipment, procedures, and safety precautions when performing maintenance duties
- Good organizational, communication, and writing skills
- Good understanding and use of computers and such programs as Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Knowledge of proper safety and operating procedures when working with electricity, machines, chemicals, power tools, and plumbing
- Weekend work and after-hours work may be required for specific projects and for snow removal
- Normal working hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
- Continuing education to improve and further develop skills
- Must be willing to actively support and participate in the school Mission, educational goals, and religious programs
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift 60 lbs
- Able to shovel snow
- Tasks are performed both indoors and outdoors in all types of weather
- The use of ladders and high lifts
