Job Title: Housing Operations & Facilities Intern
Reports To: Assistant Director of Residence Life
Location: The Summit at Queens College, Flushing, NY
Compensation: $16.00 per hour & on-site furnished housing
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Anticipated Start/End Date: June 1st, 2024 – August 15th, 2024

Capstone On-Campus Management (COCM), with headquarters in Birmingham, Alabama, is a group of student housing professionals focused exclusively on the management of housing communities owned by non-profits and/or highly affiliated with a university.
Summary:
Queens College is one of the senior colleges in the City University of New York system. The Summit houses approximately 500 students in a 5-story suite-style residence hall on the college campus. Under the direct supervision of the Assistant Director of Residence Life, the Intern will directly contribute to the execution and success of the summer housing operation including resident and guest support, building turnover and room readiness, project planning and management, and direct liaison work with vendors and staff. Intern will work approximately 25 hours per week for up to 12 weeks.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Plan and manage projects completed by in-house staff and third-party vendors
- Assist with scheduling of work orders and similar turnover tasks
- Manage communications between in-house personnel and vendors regarding progress and room conditions
- Assist with oversight of staff, schedules, and management of inventory and equipment
- Support occupancy management planning and execution
- Support Housing Office with administrative tasks
- Additional duties may be determined based on intern interests and department needs

- Enrollment in undergraduate or graduate program
- Experience in student housing leadership position or employment
- Interest in an experience concentrated on Housing Operations and facilities
- Ability to communicate clearly, both written and in speech.
- Must be punctual, organized, and able to meet deadlines.
