he Department of Biology at Ithaca College invites applications for a one-year, full-time Instructor in Evolution and Ecology, to begin on August 16, 2024. This position involves teaching a course for non-science majors (Fall and Spring), an upper-level course in Evolution for Biology majors (Spring) and some Introductory Biology lab sections. It may be possible to supervise students in research in the Spring, for teaching credit. Participating in the program, school, and college events is appreciated. This is an in-person teaching position with a teaching load of 24 credits. The College is especially interested in candidates who can contribute to the excellence and diversity of its academic community. P

rogram Description : The Biology department is housed within the school of Humanities & Sciences, which consists of approximately 1200 undergraduates. The department offers both a B.A. and a B.S. in Biology, and a B.S. in Biochemistry (in collaboration with the Chemistry department). The department teaches a variety of courses for Biology/Biochemistry majors, general education classes for non-science majors, and service courses for other programs in the Health Sciences. Consistent with the mission of Ithaca College, excellence in teaching is a critical factor in evaluation of faculty. Q
