Description
MCHC's Dora Street Health Center in Ukiah, CA is currently seeking a regular, full-time Facilities Attendant. Facilities Attendant ensures the maintenance and security of MCHC facilities. Support MCHC's initiatives for security, energy conservation, minor maintenance, facilities management, infection control and overall employee/patient safety by performing the essential functions of the job.
Duties Include:

• Performs general maintenance in facility, including preventative maintenance on HVAC and other systems.
• Provides facility & equipment installation and repairs support for all departments.
• Provides landscaping maintenance for facility.
• Picks up, delivers, or ships equipment/supplies as necessary to various locations.
• Responds timely and appropriately to all requests and provides excellent customer service. Requests may include: Conference room set up, off-site event support, office moves and/or reconfigurations.
• Acts as contact for linen and janitorial vendors to ensure access to buildings for deliveries.
• Maintains the general cleanliness of the facility during operating hours.
• Helps direct patients to medical or dental reception areas; discourages loitering, smoking, and patients wandering into inappropriate areas.
• Supports MCHC initiatives for facility energy conservation by shutting off lights and air conditioning units, after hours.
• Supports MCHC initiatives for cost effectiveness and efficiency by planning projects in detail.
• Supports MCHC initiatives for facility security by following policies and protocols.
• Supports MCHC initiatives for overall employee / patient safety by identifying and addressing potentially hazardous issues immediately and participating in Emergency Preparedness activities.
• Supports MCHC initiatives for infection control. Complies with all personal protective equipment requirements and standards.
• Handles all chemicals in compliance with specifications.
• Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements
Required Qualifications:

• Minimum of one (1) years' experience in a healthcare facility or related experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
• Possess a valid California Driver's License and be insurable to drive MCHC vehicles
• Two or more years' experience in a healthcare facility or related experience

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday: 65% of time standing, 25% of time walking, and 10% of time sitting.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, sit, balance, smell and grasp. Must be able to reach above the shoulder level to work, must be able to bend, twist and turn.
• The employee uses hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
• Must be able to lift up to 100 pounds and push up to 300 pounds (on wheels).
• Must be able to hear staff on the phone and those who are served in-person and speak clearly in order to communicate information to clients and staff.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Must have vision that is adequate to read memos, a computer screen, and other clinic documents.
• Employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals and risk of electrical shock.
• Must have high manual dexterity. Frequent repetitive hand and wrist motions. Work may include limited operation of computer keyboard.

Salary Description
$21 to $26 an hour, DOE
