Position Summary:
Lay out and fabricate metal components, including bellows expansion joints, braided hoses, tube and pipe assemblies capable of passing pressure testing when necessary, using knowledge of applicable welding techniques and engineering requirements, such as reading and understanding blueprints.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Lays out, positions, and secures parts and assemblies according to specifications, using straightedge, combination square, protractor and ruler.
- Welds components and assemblies using GTAW techniques.
- Inspects components prior to assembly, making sure they comply with manufacturing blueprints
- Cuts work piece, using powered die grinders, hand grinders and / or hand shears.
- Be able to weld in multiple positions.
- Analyzes engineering drawings and specifications to plan layout, assembly, and welding operations.
- Equipment Maintenance, perform routine maintenance on equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed.
- Displays a basic mechanical aptitude. Familiar with equipment function and servicing requirements. Able to perform preventive maintenance as assigned.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand. The employee frequently is required to walk, reach with hands and arms, and stoop, kneel, crouch and work in tiring positions. Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
Skills/Qualifications:
- Ability to read work instructions and drawings.
- Must be able to determine the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job.
- Math Skills Required.
- 2 yrs of experience welding pressure tested assemblies
- Strong experience with Tig welding a must
- Must possess basic computer skills for time entry into company MRP system.
- Understand all welding procedures, techniques and terminology.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
Must be able to work in fast paced environment, must be able to work with a team, and must be dependable. Work is performed on the manufacturing floor and will require overtime. Must be able to pass company drug screen and company physical. High school diploma or GED is preferred.
