Position Overview
Within this position, the Fabric Development Assistant is responsible for seasonal development and allocation of fabric in alignment with Zelouf’s exclusive brand partnerships. The ideal candidate for this role possesses technical knowledge of raw material, having a strong attention to detail and high level of communication skills.
Primary Responsibilities
•Independent ownership of the Product Life Cycle (PLC) during each development season
•Arrange and issues purchased orders to vendors overseas
•Adherence to the PLC dates; meeting deadlines and deliverables
•Communicate with cross functional teams on Fabric Development and related areas
•Review and maintain lab dip records issued during the development stage
•Maintains Work in Progress (WIP) for open development orders
•Allocates development sample yardage and headers for client and oversea factories
•Organize and maintain seasonal records of sourced and developed fabrics
•Works with Accounting department to maintain seasonal billing
•Work with managers to troubleshoot and resolve development issues for categories managed
•Issues Fabric Description Sheets (FDS) as requested
•Manage day to day data entry and special projects as assigned
Qualifications
•2-3 years of experience in textile or apparel development
•Bachelor’s Degree in related field
•Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
•Strong sense of teamwork and ability to multitask
•Strong analytical and decision-making skills•
Proficient in MS Suite
Job Type: Full-time; onsite Monday – Friday

Zelouf Fabrics’ headquarters and showroom is located in Manhattan’s iconic garment district and also has a juniors-focused outpost in Los Angeles, a quality control and development operation in China and its expansive warehouse in New Jersey.
