Experienced Systems Administrator

Join our team as a Senior Systems Administrator and lead our the EIS Operations team which includes System Administrators, Network Engineers, and the Security Engineer.

This Senior Systems Administrator will be the single point of contact to the COR and other USSF personnel for reporting issues/concerns, obtaining a status of issues, etc. and will provide functional Service Administration (FSA) Operation and Maintenance (O&M) support services for all USSF EIS environments. 

In this role, you will:

• Maintain the EIS server environments to provide required 98% service availability.
• Coordinate planned outages and troubleshoots unplanned outages.
• Communicate with the COR and PM on all outages.
• Apply approved and tested patches to the EIS environments.
• Review error logs on all servers daily.
• Perform daily system and serviceability tests.
• Perform database maintenance as needed.
• Monitor system performance as well as Structured Query Language (SQL) operations and performance.
• Bring SQL servers into and out of service in clustered environments and front-end servers in and out of load balance as needed.
• Repair/rebuild SharePoint servers as needed; submit and coordinate all system-level change requests; and remediate Classified Spills on the SharePoint systems.
• Test patches and changes in the USSF EIS Laboratory/Data Center prior to application on the live systems.
• Apply patches and changes to the SharePoint and TMT environments as needed.
• Provide SharePoint Notification Banners with USSF EIS information as needed; provide technical updates and issues e-mail notifications to the USSF EIS users.
• Support the Tier 2 Service Desk during system level outages/service interruptions.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• An active DoD TS/SCI clearance
• A high school Diploma with 12+ years’ experience
  • Bachelors degree can qualify for 4 years' of experience
  • Associates degree can qualify for 2 years' of experience 
• Demonstrated ability to trouble shoot problems with Microsoft load balanced clustered servers
• Strong knowledge of SharePoint to include managing Microsoft SQL in a clustered environment; Microsoft System Administration skills; Virtual Server builds and management; and strong demonstrated trouble shooting skills
• Any of the below DoD 8570 IAT Level II qualifying certifications or higher:
  • CCNA-Security
  • CySA+ **
  • GICSP
  • GSEC
  • Security+ CE
  • CND
  • SSCP
• MCSA or MCSE certification
• Ability to travel locally to Buckley Space Force Base up to 10% of the time as needed

Additional desired experience and skills:

• Ability to effectively communicate technical issues and status with all levels of military and civilian personnel within USSF.
• Previous experience maintaining large scale SharePoint farms; experience with administering/maintaining SharePoint 2013, SQL 2012, Microsoft servers and clustered servers in an Active-Passive cluster.

In compliance with state and local laws regarding pay transparency, the salary range for this role is $79,218 to $132,031; however, Serco considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills.
