The Role of Head Baker
As a Head Baker, you set the flow for the day, maintaining the pace of the bakery to uphold top customer service and ensure tasks stay on track. You work closely with our General Manager to ensure high-quality cookies and a remarkable guest experience. The daily operations of our store are in your hands and you use your innate leadership ability to engage and inspire your team to deliver world-renowned customer service. You are committed to the success of the team and you train them with an individualized approach. You love seeing your hard work pay off in a successful store and happy customers!
Responsibilities:
- Follows Nouvé Bakery's recipes with exactness and care.
- Pays close attention to the details of each pastry, making sure consistency and the highest quality is experienced every time.
- Constantly looking for ways to improve workflow in the kitchen
- Ensure that the kitchen and working areas are kept clean at all times
- Maintaining a good relationship with the Front of House team equipment
- Monitor oven temperatures and baking times to ensure optimal results
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to coordinate baking schedules and fulfill orders
- Adhere to food safety and sanitation guidelines at all times
Criteria:
- Previous experience working as a baker in a restaurant or food industry setting is preferred
- Strong foundation in lamination
- Great attention to detail
- Great communicator
- Collaborative personality
- Genuinely passionate about the industry
- Familiarity with kitchen equipment, including mixers, ovens, and proofers
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload
- Excellent customer service skills to interact with customers and fulfill their bakery requests
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and proper food handling procedures
