The Indiana State Donor Alliance is looking for a bold and entrepreneurial leader. This is a full-time position and requires a unique and diverse set of skills, attributes, and experience. The Executive Director is responsible for ensuring a healthy and dynamic organization so that:

Our ultimate goal is to rebalance the political power structure of the state so that progressive policies and values can be implemented and sustained for all Hoosiers.
Executive Director Responsibilities
Organizational Strategy and Management
- Ensure we are doing the most important things to build a healthy progressive infrastructure for our state
- Manage organizational strategy and implementation through a clear strategic plan, and aligned work-plan and budget.
- Elevate equity as a core lens through which we measure success.
- Ensure legal and financial compliance and strong fiscal positions.
- Optimize board engagement. Maintain regular communication with the board for input and guidance outside of meetings.
Fundraising and Member Engagement
- Write and implement a multi-year fundraising and member development plan that cultivates diverse revenue streams from individuals, in-state organizations, and national funders.
- Retain and increase the ongoing support and political engagement of our members through events, communications, and individual conversations.
- Recruit and on-board new members, working with board and member leaders.
- Develop inspiring materials and verbal presentations for communicating our work to donor audiences.
- Fundraise for special projects in partnership with membership, institutions, and foundations.
- Maintain strong relationships with foundation partners and attract national funding for our network.
External Relations and National Leadership
- Meet with allies, elected leaders, grantees and other funders and partners to build strong partnerships.
- Identify and fill gaps in our infrastructure.
- Provide targeted assistance to grantees as needed, particularly at launch or transition.
- Represent our organization at national and regional conferences.
- Promote and replicate successful models from our state, and follow innovations from other states in order to incorporate best practices into our strategy.
- Qualifications Include
- Minimum 6 years of relevant work experience.
- 4+ years in senior management roles including staff supervision, fundraising, finance, board oversight and/or operations in a nonprofit organization.
- High-level understanding of social and political change and progressive movements backed by direct experience with grassroots and/or electoral efforts.
- Commitment to the mission, vision, and values of the organization.
- Experience with and passion for individual donor fundraising.
- Excellent communicator and writer, with experience as a spokesperson who can tailor messages to different audiences.
- Experience and cultural proficiency working with diverse communities.
- Proven ability to work in a dynamic environment and build strong partnerships. Takes initiative and can make tough decisions.
- Success supervising and mentoring staff and teams, including professional and leadership development
- Strategic, systems-oriented thinker. Creative problem solver.
- Collaborative leadership style. Engaging and confident interpersonal style.

The salary range for this position starts at $150,000 with exact salary depending on experience. We also offer excellent benefits such as medical, dental, vision insurance, paid holidays, and matching 401k.
