Position Summary:
As an Executive Director, you will play a pivotal role in leading the Hoover YMCA toward fulfilling its mission and strategic goals. Your responsibilities encompass directing branch operations, implementing policies and programs, and fostering a culture of innovation. This senior management position requires someone who is adaptable to change, possesses exceptional oral and written communication skills, thinks strategically and creatively, and excels in problem-solving. Your role will involve building relationships with community leaders and organizations to enhance our community impact through collaboration and partnership.
Essential Functions:
Oversee the Hoover YMCAand service area programs.
Recruit, select, and develop a diverse branch advisory board that actively supports the Y’s goals and strategic plans. Clarify and reinforce the division of roles and responsibilities between corporate board, branch advisory board, and staff
Build bridges within the Hoover community so that all have access to the Y.
Effectively communicate community benefit and the Y’s impact for all stakeholders.
Develop positive relationships with other organizations and businesses.
Manage the budget so that resources are devoted to priorities and strategic objectives. Ensureoperating budgets meet or exceed targets.
Develop and direct high-quality member engagement strategies and programs that support the Hoover YMCA branch and association goals and strategies. Establishplans for the expansion of programs and services in harmony with overall YMCA objectives.
Direct the financial development activities, including the Annual Campaign.
Oversee risk management and preventative practice compliance.
Directbranch strategic planning efforts and develop the annual goals.
Oversee the hiring, training, development, and supervision of branch staff.
Foster a climate of innovation to develop programs that support the Y mission and goals.
Identify and correct areas in which the branch is under-performing.
Serve on community and association committees and boards to foster relationships.
Ensure the safety and maintenance of high-quality facilities, grounds, and equipment.

Minimum Requirements:
The ideal candidate should have three years or more of experience at the Associate Director level or higher within the YMCA, or relevant experience in a management role with operational responsibility and direct supervision of staff at multiple levels.
Capacity to achieve positive results in the areas of fundraising, board & volunteer development, program development, staff supervision, and fiscal management.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong organizational skills andinitiative to work independently.
Must have the capacity to develop strong, positive relationships with board volunteers, and business and civic leaders.
Proven record of leading and aligning teams to a clearly articulated vision, mission, and strategic plan. Advance a cohesive, positive, and productive culture.
Ability to analyze complex information and to define and solve problems.
