Duties

  • Present a professional demeanor that communicates a corporate philosophy of service, goodwill, and genuine interest in each resident’s needs.
  • Complying with all licensing requirements pertaining to certified administrators.
  • Direct day-to-day operations of the property in a manner that ensures the health, safety and satisfaction of residents and employees and promotes and advances the business interests of the Community.
  • Maintain open communication with employees and residents to ensure a quality environment, as well as to develop personal knowledge of both residents and staff.
  • Provide active leadership in creating and maintaining the highest standards of customer satisfaction relating to facilities, food service, activities, housekeeping, staff interactions, and resident care.
  • Foster a strong, cohesive team environment that builds confidence and strong morale among staff and high resident retention and satisfaction.
  • Being present in the community during normal business hours, and at a minimum, the number of hours required to ensure that the community is operated efficiently and in compliance with all current laws and state regulations.
  • Maintain personal awareness of all aspects of the Community by conducting a daily walk-through of the community.
  • Delegating and authorizing a staff member to assume the responsibilities of the Executive Director, within the scope of state regulations when the Executive Director is not present in the community. This staff member will be sufficiently trained and possess the needed qualifications to be responsible for managing the community in the absence of the Executive Director.
  • Provide exceptional customer service.
  • Maintain open communication with employees and residents to ensure a quality environment, as well as to develop personal knowledge of both residents and staff.
  • Provide active leadership in creating and maintaining the highest standards of customer satisfaction relating to facilities, food service, resident services, housekeeping, staff interactions, and resident care.
  • Maintain personal awareness of all aspects of the Community by conducting a daily walk-through of the community.
  • Conduct daily all-staff stand-up meeting and weekly manager meetings.
  • Manage, in conjunction with the Operations Coordinator, new employee orientation, pay changes, insurance and benefits management, worker's compensation and employee on-the-job injury, safety, motivation, and employee performance evaluations.
  • Ensure that all employees fulfill their assignments and job descriptions in a professional and timely manner, and are on time, courteous, and present a clean and professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Accurately document all personnel related matters.
  • Delegate authority to department heads in a reasonable and acceptable nature.
  • Direct manager-on-duty schedule.
  • Prepare and revise departmental procedural manuals as needed.
  • Develop, with direction from the Arrow Senior Living Regional Director or company officer, an overall operating budget and business plan for the Community.
  • Approve, monitor and submit for payment all expenditures relating to the Community.
  • Ensure revenues are collected in a timely manner and ensure accurate and accountable reporting of revenues.
  • Maintain records and accounting of all petty cash and discretionary accounts according to company policy.
  • Prepare financial, occupancy development, and operational reports and analyses as requested.
  • Maintain knowledge and ensure compliance of all current governmental laws and licensing requirements which pertain to the successful, legal and profitable operations of the Community.
  • Monitor costs and revenues and meet or exceed budget guidelines.
  • Exercise professional judgment and adhere to all written standards, policies and procedures.
  • Oversee negotiating, selecting, and contracting with vendors.
  • Familiarize yourself with residents of the Community.
  • Observe and monitor resident’s ability to perform daily ADLs and social skills, remain aware of potential difficulties or opportunities and foster an atmosphere for employees to communicate resident difficulties to improve retention and satisfaction.
  • When appropriate, coordinate and participate in care planning and other meetings, both formal and informal;
  • Encourage and motivate residents in all areas, providing assistance when necessary.
  • Plan daily schedule to maximize interaction with residents.
  • Participate in resident orientations by explaining amenities, routines, and expectations of the Community and your department.
  • Cooperate and interact with Resident Council.
  • Participate in beverage service during meal times.
  • Meet with residents and family members on an annual basis or as needed to ensure satisfaction.
  • Create, in conjunction with the Operations Coordinator, all resident renewal letters a minimum of 60 days prior to lease expiration and monitor resident renewals.
  • Perform move-in paperwork for all new move-ins by coordinating with the leasing team to schedule appointments at the time of deposit in conjunction with Operations Coordinator.
  • Monitor emergency call system and respond via set protocol.
  • Review, daily, 24 hour communication logs maintained by front desk.
  • Monitor sanitation of kitchen, quality, presentation and variety of meals, and resident participation at meal times.
  • Monitor overall cleanliness of the Community while safeguarding from abuse, damage and/or deterioration.
  • Monitor and assist in managing all maintenance requests as well as resident satisfaction after completion.
  • Be available to give tours, answer questions, and provide information about the Community.
  • Attend and occasionally assist with special resident and community programs, as available.
  • Maintain “On-Call” status 24-hours for emergency and/or crisis situations.
  • Rotate holiday and weekend hours with staff to ensure appropriate coverage.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Requirements

  • Be at least (21) years of age.
  • Shall have two (2) years of college; at least three (3) years of experience providing residential care to the elderly; or equivalent education and experience as approved by the licensing agency.
  • Knowledge of the requirements for providing care and supervision appropriate to the residents.
  • Knowledge of and ability to conform to the applicable laws, rules and regulations.
  • Ability to maintain or supervise the maintenance of financial and other records.
  • Ability to direct the work of others and to provide the necessary leadership for measurable growth and satisfaction in performing the work.
  • Be a good character and a continuing reputation of personal integrity.
  • Be in good health, and physically and mentally capable of performing assigned tasks.  Good physical health shall be verified by a health screening performed by a physician not more than (6) months prior to or (7) days after employment. 
  • Demonstrates freedom from pulmonary tuberculosis by a health screening performed by a physician not more than (6) months prior to or (7) days after employment.
  • Must be criminally cleared by criminal background check.
  • Must have a clean driving record as per the insurance carrier’s policy. 
  • Hold a current state issued license or certificate.
