L.O. Eye Care is seeking an Executive Director, based out of our Coolidge Rd (East Lansing, MI) location. Interested candidates must work well with others, show leadership qualities, organizational and time management skills, a positive attitude and dependability.
Summary: The Executive Director is responsible for providing strategic leadership for Lansing Ophthalmology, dba L.O. Eye Care and its affiliates by working with the Board of Directors and other management to establish long-range goals, strategies, plans and policies.
Supervisory responsibilities: The Executive Director reports to the Board of Directors. The Executive Director directly supervises the following positions: Human Resources Manager, Clinical Director, Optical Director, Finance Director, Marketing Manager, Materials Manager, and the Patient Relations Manager.

- Provides leadership and management to ensure that the mission and core values of the Practice are maintained at the highest level.
- Evaluates and advises on the impact of long-range planning, introduction of new programs/strategies, and positive cash flow.
- Responsible for the overall financial viability of the Practice, driving the company to achieve sales, profitability, and positive cash flow.
- Collaborates with the senior management team to develop and implement plans for the operational infrastructure of systems, policies, procedures, and personnel designed to accomplish the business goals and objectives.
- Leads a high-performance management team. Attracts, recruits and retains members of the senior management team. Mentors and coaches direct reports. Conducts annual performance appraisal of direct reports.
- Supports the operations of the Board of Directors by advising and informing Board members, interfacing between the Board and staff, and supporting the Board’s directives.
- Maintains knowledge of developments in ophthalmology and practice management by attending appropriate clinical and management seminars.
- Represents the Practice and its mission, programs, products and services in a strong, positive image to relevant stakeholders.
- Recruits qualified physicians as needed.
- Performs other duties of functions as assigned.

- May experience heavy physical exertion and manual labor as typical in an inventory warehouse environment

Education and experience: Educational requirements that are job-related and consistent with business necessity
- Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent experience in business, public health administration or related field.
- Master’s degree desired.
- Minimum of five years’ experience in management position in a medical facility required. Previous ophthalmology practice experience desired.
Leadership and management experience:
