Walker Area Food Shelf is Hiring!

The Walker Area Food Shelf is looking for an Executive Director who is energetic and compassionate and enjoys working with the public and volunteers. Responsibilities include managing day-to-day operations of the food shelf including purchasing and ensuring safe storage and distribution of food; recruiting and managing volunteers; representing the food shelf in the community and managing external communications; tracking and reporting data for regulatory reporting and fundraising; writing grants and fostering donor relations to obtain funding.
Reports to and works closely with the Food Shelf Board of Directors to sustain operations within budget and in line with the strategic goals of the food shelf.
Up to full time.
Flexible hours. Must be present on days/evening Food Shelf is open to the public (Tuesdays), days food trucks deliver, times volunteers are working and for meetings. Fundraising events often occur in the evening and on weekends.
Experience with Microsoft Office and Google Suite required.
Vehicle and valid driver's license required.
Experience in nonprofits desired.
Bachelor's degree preferred; experience in related area considered.
Exceptional customer service, strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to work with people on all levels and backgrounds, organizational skills, and ability to problem solve are critical skills for success in the position.
Starting Salary - $40,000 - $50,000 commensurate with experience; salaried position.
