Executive Director, Twin Cities Gay Men’s Chorus
ORGANIZATION SUMMARYThe Twin Cities Gay Men’s Chorus (TCGMC) seeks a new Executive Director to begin with our 44th season in August, 2024. Based in the artistically rich Minneapolis-St. Paul (MSP) metropolitan area, TCGMC is among the country’s largest and most respected LGBTQ+ choruses. Throughout our storied history, TCGMC has embodied our mission of “Building Community through Music,” through excellence in vocal artistry, raising our voices in advocacy, and fostering an inclusive community for our members and audiences.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Executive Director–as the primary representative of the chorus to our staff, patrons, community partners, and external stakeholders–needs to balance operational, management, marketing, fundraising, and communication skills. The Executive Director will report to the Board of Directors and will manage all of the operational staff members of TCGMC (existing positions and future). They will also collaborate with the Artistic Director to achieve the mission, vision, and strategic priorities of the organization.

STRATEGIC PLANNING AND OPERATIONAL MANAGEMENT● Lead the development and effective implementation, monitoring, and updating of long-range work plans for the organization to implement the Board’s Strategic Plan
● Collaborate with the Board and Artistic Director to ensure a clear, shared annual vision for the organization to align with the Strategic Plan
● Prepare and submit monthly work plans to the Board’s Executive Committee
● Serve on any strategic planning subcommittees during periodic reviews
● Oversee all aspects of TCGMC administrative operations, including finance and budgeting, development, marketing, and staff administration
● Assure TCGMC follows all state, local, and federal non-profit laws and ethical best practices
● Represent TCGMC in appropriate local, state, and national forums
● Participate in operational Board committees as outlined in the Bylaws
● Manage day-to-day office responsibilities, including payroll, benefits, and annual reports
● Maintain regulatory, professional, and licensing requirements as applicable
FUNDRAISING, DEVELOPMENT, AND FINANCIAL OVERSIGHT● Create and maintain an annual operational budget in collaboration with the Board Treasurer and Finance Committee
● Develop and implement novel development strategies to maximize contributed income opportunities
● Solicit potential individual donors and corporate partnerships
● Foster and maintain relationships with existing donors and financial partners
● Research and apply for local, state, and federal grants
● Develop and oversee fundraising events
● Submit annual financial statements and data as required by licensing and agreements
AUDIENCE DEVELOPMENT AND COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT● Develop and maintain marketing plans and oversee marketing and social media presence
● Assist in management of annual Sing it Forward fundraising event
● Collaborate with Artistic Director to identify possible community partnerships and outreach events
● Coordinate and deepen partnerships with existing artistic, charitable, and other community partners
● Maintain online presences, websites, and communication channels
