Events And Marketing Coordinator

Clear Skies Meadery a wine tasting and manufacturing facility located in Rockville, Maryland is looking for an Events and Marketing Coordinator to plan and implement events , festivals and farmers markets.  The primary job responsibility of a successful Event Coordinator is to assist in development of  marketing strategy to generate leads for private through a combination of networking, sales outreach, and strategic social media marketing campapigns. The event coordinator job will be directly responsible for planning, organizing, and promoting small to medium scale events ranging from company happy hours, graduation parties, wedding and baby showers. You will also seek to build business opportunities off-premises and work with our taproom management team to grow brand loyalty at festivals, farmers markets, and other community gatherings. The individual should be self-motivated with strong attention to detail, a passion for organization, and have excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Previous experience with event coordination is a plus. 

●      Respond to all private event inquiries within 24 hours.

●      Plan event details and aspects, including floor plan, seating plan, decor, lighting, music, etc. All plans must be approved 15 days prior to the event with management and client. This also includes purchasing any décor from retail stores prior to the event.

●      Work with outside caterers to coordinate food drop off and or pick up for the event.

●      Meet with Front of the house staff to address staffing, food and glassware needs for the event. 

●      Present event schedule with detailed outline of individual staff responsibilities to ensure event goes smoothly.

●      Make event appropriate flyers, individualized menu cards, and decorate blackboards for the event.

●      Maintain a comprehensive schedule of events happening at Clear Skies.

●      Support established systems and help design and implement new ones to continually maintain high levels of profitability in private events.

●      Attend offsite events in order to cultivate appreciation for the Clear Skies Meadery brand and engage with communities.

●      Advertise offsite for Events and promotions at Clear Skies especially at farmers markets and festivals.

●      Attend weekly team meetings to effectively communicate upcoming festivals and events to be attended or hosted by Clear Skies.

●      Effectively manage difficult situations with guests, employees, or otherwise.

●      Design, create and post weekly Events and new mead releases on social media sites of Clear Skies.

●      Design and create promotional posters for new mead releases at the taproom and farmers markets.

●      Organize the monthly events chalk board.

●      Be the main point of contact for all festivals and in charge of making sure all registration for festivals is filed in a timely fashion. This also includes ensuring that the all certificate of insurance are submitted to the festival organizers prior to their due date.

●      Maintain valid solicitors license for both states, DC and Maryland

●      Maintain TIPS certification.

●      Update, document and maintain events on all marketing platforms, websites used by the company.

●      Update events on Rockville Chamber of Commerce website

In addition to the social media and event coordinator position you will continue to assist in staffing festivals, markets and some occasional shifts at the front of house for Clear Skies. You will be expected to perform other reasonably related business duties as requested by the immediate supervisor and other managerial staff as required.
