Event Coordinator/Lead Server
Rikasa, our fine dining restaurant in beautiful downtown Pittston is looking for an Event Coordinator/Lead Server. Our breathtaking restaurant has 4 floors of incredible taste, atmosphere and fun, including our rooftop bar. We not only offer a great dining experience for our guests, but also offer an outstanding place to work.
This position is salary plus server tips.
Event Coordinator Job Receptibilities:
- Meets with clients to discuss the type of event and what they are looking for.
- Creates an event proposal that fits the client’s requirement.
- Sticks to a budget as laid out with the client.
- Books catering services, venue, and décor.
- Assists team with all service points throughout the event.
- Has ongoing communication with the client to keep them up to date on any changes.
- Adjusts events accordingly based on guest concerns and feedback.
- Serves as the main contact point for any problems and or questions that arise.
- Networks and create future sales opportunities at the event.
- Assists managing social media and marketing platforms.
- Day-to-day administrative work such as issuing invoices and collecting payments.
- Coordinates multiple events at once when needed.
Lead Server Job Responsibilities:
- Serves guests with food and beverages in a positive and friendly manner.
- Knowledgeable in guiding the guest by providing information to help food and beverage selections.
- Place accurate orders to the bar and kitchen and identify guests' special dietary needs and special requests.
- Upsells food/drink items to continue to give guests an exceptional experience.
- Controls the guest dining experience with proper pacing and firing of courses.
- Anticipates guests' needs by exceeding expectations with personalized service.
- Maintains dining ambiance with an enthusiastic attitude.
- Utilizes POS systems when placing guests’ orders in a prompt and efficient manner.
- Correctly sets dining areas for service.
- Efficiently completing side work tasks as a team for pre and post shift which includes special event set ups and breakdowns.
- Helps guests select food and beverages by suggesting courses, explaining the chef’s features, identifying appropriate beverage pairings, and answering food preparation questions. ·
- Responsible for timely beverage delivery to guests and assisting with running food items when needed.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Previous experience as a server or serving events preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Well-organized with the ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Must be at least sixteen years old; or older to serve alcoholic beverages.
- Must complete orientation and training for the position.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
- Must be able to lift, balance, and carry trays of food and beverages weighing up to 25 pounds.
- Must be able to lift, move, and set tables and chairs weighing up to 25 pounds.
