The Event and Marketing Specialist's main duty is to create and manage programming on-site at 1Cal Plaza and The CalEdison buildings. The position will enhance the experience for tenants and visitors in order to create a sense of community. The ideal candidate has marketing and events experience, a creative personality reinforced with exceptional business acumen and tech-savviness. This position will not only plan meetings and professional conferences, but also exciting social and networking events. Additionally, this position will manage the back-end app, Equiem across three buildings, create internal marketing collateral, and social media accounts, as requested.
Job Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Coordinate all programming, including raffles and event kits to be sent out to participating tenants
- Design event flyers/posters/advertisements as well as calendar events schedule
- Create calendar of events for management approval
- Assist building staff with team building activities
- Assist with film requests for the property, coordinate staff, and submit work orders as needed
- Review and approve Filming Surveys
- Collaborate with neighboring buildings (2Cal/Omni) on The Yard related events
- Manage and facilitate Equiem platform at 1Cal, Cal Edison and Civic Center Plaza
- Manage and facilitate Rising Impact Newsletter
- Manage and facilitate W & P Conference Center, including collaboration with The Omni for events
- Manage and maintain Tenant Relation GL account
- Maintain and upload announcements in Captivate and on interactive lobby screens
- Generate Building Memos for events
- Work with Marketing Department for social media content
- Update content on Video wall
- Building local partnerships and acquire discounts and upgrades
- Tenant event planning and execution
- Coordination of regular programming including special events, conveniences, contests, raffles, and brand activations for the building and individual companies
- Purchase tenant gifts
- Acts as a building ambassador, including maintaining a welcoming presence in public spaces during high traffic times and during events Manage building conference center reservations through app
- Partner with onsite and local retailers and dining establishments to highlight promotions in the app
- Assist property management team and leasing teams with tours, welcome collateral and events for new tenants
- Responds to in-person, phone and email requests from tenants providing guidance and information in a timely manner
- Partner with local gyms and fitness providers for health and wellness programming
- Act as building ambassador, maintaining a welcoming presence in public spaces during high traffic times
- Plan and maintain the property programming budget in coordination with building management
- Negotiate contracts with area vendors for best prices and services
- Knowledgeable of local and trending festivals, events, attractions, restaurants, hotels, tours and transportation schedules in the surrounding area.
- Upon expansion, assist in recruiting and training additional tenant relations personnel
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
- At least three years experience in marketing and event planning
- Notary Public Experience a plus or willingness to acquire a Notary Public license
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Basic understanding of budgeting and accounting
- Adaptable to changing priorities
- Must have a team player attitude
- Tech savvy and resourceful
Salary Range: $70,000 - $80,000
*This is an on-site role (5 days/week)
