Our client is an established manufacturing firm is growing its clientele, and they have an excellent opportunity for an entry-level Estimator to join their team of professionals. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in structural steel and/or estimating for construction or industrial projects. This candidate must be organized, motivated, detail-oriented and driven. The client is offering a competitive salary commensurate with experience, along with an outstanding benefits package.
Estimator responsibilities and duties:
- Perform detailed quantity takeoffs and detailed cost estimates
- Communicate with trade partners and team members regarding new and current projects
- Prepare detailed estimates, proposals, and quotes
- Ensure timely completion of estimates
- Understand scope of work to bid and contractual requirements
- Manage bid pricing from all vendors and subcontractors
- Prepare cost analysis
- Establish and maintain working relationships with vendors and subcontractors
- Other duties as assigned
Estimator skills
- 0-2 years' experience in structural/miscellaneous steel or construction estimating
- Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Applied Science, Civil Engineering or related field
- Able to read and understand construction documents and engineering information and develop cost estimates
- Strong understanding of construction processes and techniques
- Proficiency with MS Word and Excel
- Proficient in estimating systems, software, and methodology
- Able to multi-task and meet strict deadlines
- Impeccable problem-solving skill
