Responsibilities:
- Oversee the estimating process for construction projects from start to finish
- Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documents to prepare accurate cost estimates
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, and subcontractors to gather necessary information for estimating purposes
- Utilize construction estimating software such as Bluebeam and HeavyBid to create detailed cost breakdowns
- Review and evaluate subcontractor bids and proposals
- Prepare and present cost estimates to clients and stakeholders
- Participate in pre-bid meetings and site visits to assess project requirements
- Ensure that all estimates are in compliance with contract requirements and industry standards
- Collaborate with the project management team to develop strategies for cost control and value engineering
Skills:
- Strong background in construction estimating and contract management
- Proficiency in construction management software such as Bluebeam and HeavyBid
- Excellent project management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Knowledge of cost control techniques and strategies
- Ability to build relationships and negotiate effectively with subcontractors and suppliers
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in estimating costs
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
