Job description

Clorox is the place that's committed to growth - for our people and our brands. Guided by our purpose and values, and with people at the center of everything we do, we believe every one of us can make a positive impact on consumers, communities, and teammates. Join our team. #CloroxIsThePlace
Your role at Clorox:
As a member of Clorox's Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) team, this experienced data management professional will play an important role in our ESG journey. The ESG Data and Reporting Lead will primarily be responsible for supporting reporting and analysis of our carbon footprint to ultimately help us achieve our net zero commitment. This role will also be responsible for advancing reporting and analysis in other ESG areas that are important to our business. This includes taking a lead role as we migrate our systems to enable greater automation in the collection, storage and validation of our ESG data.
The ideal candidate will be able to analyze data, produce actionable insights, and create data visualizations and dashboards for stakeholders with varying levels of familiarity with the ESG topics - including executive leaders and investors.
In this role, you will:

  • Analyze data for accuracy and alignment with Clorox's ESG targets and GHG Protocol, SBTi and other relevant accounting and disclosure standards that emerge (e.g. SEC, ISSB).
  • Quantify and present Clorox's annual carbon footprint and related analyses to support IGNITE ESG targets; identify and evaluate carbon accounting best practices, updated methods, and the latest emission factors from accepted external sources.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather data needed for Clorox's annual ESG reporting needs including the integrated annual report and key ratings and rankings; prepare reports and presentations on ESG performance, trends, and recommendations for various stakeholders, including senior management, board of directors, investors, and external rating agencies.
  • Perform quantitative and qualitative analysis, including synthesizing findings and developing a storyline to support ESG communications.
  • Partner with key internal stakeholders including the ESG controllership to advance our data governance framework and maintain documentation of processes, procedures and SOPs around data collection, verification, and assurance of ESG metrics and KPIs.
  • Serve as a lead in the development and implementation of an ESG data management system that will serve as a repository for reliable, auditable ESG data for various sustainability topics; identify and recommend methods and processes to streamline the collection, storage, and verification of ESG data.
  • Support reporting for key ratings and rankings including CDP, DJSI, MSCI, Sustainalytics, ISS and others; identify and recommend ways to track return on ESG investments.
  • Stay abreast of relevant regulations, standards (e.g., ISSB, Sustainability Accounting Standards Board), and disclosure requirements related to ESG reporting.

What we look for:
  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in environmental science, sustainability, or business; MBA or other advanced degree preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in ESG data tracking, analysis, and management.
  • Experience with non-financial reporting and ESG standards and Reporting frameworks and ratings, including SASB, TCFD, SDGs, CDP, MSCI, Sustainalytics and S&P.
  • Experience with GHG Data and protocols.
  • Experience with data systems including SAP; experience in implementing data visualizations in Tableau, Power BI, or other relevant tool preferred.
  • Excellent critical thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to present metrics, explain findings, and articulate issues and challenges together with proposed solutions.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop and maintain excellent working relationships with stakeholders of multiple levels; be a team player.
  • Ability to multi-task and quickly prioritize projects and work well under pressure and tight deadlines.
  • Collaborative and flexible style, with an approach to work that motivates and energizes others.
