PURPOSE/SCOPE: As a Sustainability & ESG Specialist, you will work closely with the Sustainability & ESG Team to support implementing and activating Tennant's sustainability strategic framework Thriving People. Healthy Planet.

This entry-level position will manage global Sustainability & ESG data, develop relationships with global data contributors, and track progress toward our ambitious sustainability goals. The Sustainability & ESG Specialist will also support internal and external sustainability-related reporting and other communications for various stakeholders, including employees, customers, suppliers, and investors. GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: + Lead global data collection, management, verification, and assurance, including the management of sustainability and ESG software.

+ Support data contributors across the organization by responding to requests, answering questions, and administering training and other educational tools as necessary. + Develop relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure strategic, efficient, and integrated data collection processes. + Develop and maintain systems for tracking key sustainability metrics that measure Tennant's sustainability strategy implementation and progress toward social and environmental goals.

+ Support sustainability reporting and ESG disclosures, including developing Tennant's annual Sustainability Report and CDP Climate Response. + Collaborate with other Sustainability & ESG Team members to translate complex data into compelling stories and visual representations. + Support the management and analysis of greenhouse gas emissions from our products and services.

+ Assist with developing content and messaging for internal and external communication platforms, including but not limited to the company intranet, public website, blog, and social media channels in coordination with marketing and corporate communication teams. + Assist with employee education and engagement initiatives to increase awareness of sustainability program, strategy, and goals. + Aid in responding to customer and supplier sustainability-related questions and requests.

+ Other duties as assigned based on business needs. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION: + Passion for making a positive impact in the world. + Bachelor's degree in sustainability, environmental science, data science, engineering, or a related field from an accredited university.

Additional related experience may substitute for the required education. + Experience with data management, analytics, and data visualization tools (i.e., Microsoft Excel, Tableau, FigBytes, or something similar). + Comfort and proficiency in translating technical, environmental, and social data into meaningful messages for internal and external audiences.

+ Experience in marketing or communications. + Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and communicate effectively. + Excellent project management, organizational, and time management abilities.

+ Ability to work independently as well as cross-functionally and cross-culturally. + Highly motivated, proactive, and willing to take on new opportunities. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: + Knowledge of sustainability reporting software tools, environmental regulations, climate change protocols, United Nations programs, and sustainability reporting frameworks, including TCFD, SASB, GRI, CDP, UN Global Compact, UN Sustainable Development Goals, Greenhouse Gas Protocol, European Union's Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive.

+ Knowledge of ESG raters and rankings, including Sustainalytics, MSCI, ISS, and EcoVadis. + Deep understanding of and experience with sustainability-related topics and trends. + Experience leading company-wide sustainability initiatives.

+ Familiarity with materiality assessments, data verification, and assurance. + Experience in sustainability or ESG communications or public relations. + Experience with global corporate business practices and systems.

+ Ability to build and maintain positive relationships, both internally and externally, while maintaining a client service orientation. + Ability to use sound judgment and discretion in dealing with highly confidential information. + Consistent attendance either onsite or remotely as needed by the business.
