POSITION TITLE:Data & Reporting Analyst
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Data and Reporting Analyst is an integral member of Scripps Research's Office of Philanthropy and will play a central role in maintaining the CRM database (Raiser's Edge/NXT) and providing high-quality reports and analyses in support of the team's fundraising efforts. Reporting to the Philanthropy Data and Analytics Manager, this position will be responsible for maintaining the integrity of the CRM, developing reports and dashboards, and fulfilling various data requests including importing and exporting data, creating mailing lists, running ad-hoc queries, and performing record audits.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
  • Serve as an advanced user of Raiser's Edge/NXT database, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of constituent and gift records.
  • Manage DATA AND mailing list requests for Philanthropy, and in coordination with other staff and departments.
  • Develop and maintain Philanthropy reports and exports, including fundraising reports and dashboards in Raiser's Edge/NXT and external data analysis programs.
  • Create query, export, and report templates for staff/end-users to run independently and offer support as required; at times, may require additional customized reports or dashboards.
  • Analyze complex data, synthesize information to communicate findings, and collaborate with staff to determine the best strategy and establish strong working partnerships.
  • Perform imports of data, including new constituent records, actions, event participation, NCOA address updates, prospect research and enrichment screenings.
  • Perform record maintenance updates, including data corrections, attribute management, and updates to communication and solicit code preferences collected from various channels (direct mail, email, etc.).
  • Perform audits to ensure the security and integrity of the database; develop strategy and schedule for audit reviews and updates.
  • In the absence of the Gift Processing Specialist, assist with gift entry and acknowledgments.
  • Manage and integrate best practices for a data-driven approach to fundraising tracking AND REPORTING.
  • Partner with the Data and Analytics Manager and staff to create and update the user policy and procedures manual based on growing needs and resources of the department.
  • In coordination with the Data and Analytics Manager, provide training for new and existing database users, offer troubleshooting support, and coordinate with Blackbaud as needed.
  • Actively maintain knowledge of advancement services, research industry standards and best practices; stay current on data analytics processes and data management procedures.

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline (e.g. Business, Computer Science, Finance), or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience demonstrating knowledge and experience with database administration, complex data pulls AND REPORTING; or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong understanding of fundraising best practices and moves management concepts.
  • Advanced database skills, preferably using Raiser's Edge/NXT or similar CRM database.
  • Skill and experience to gather, organize, analyze, and interpret a variety of complex DATA AND effectively communicate information in various functional/operational areas.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills (verbal and written) and ability to maintain effective working relationships.
  • Excellent ability to prioritize and manage a high volume of requests.
  • Ability to work independently and on a team; be flexible, adaptable, and willing to learn.
  • Ability to use discretion, exercise good judgment, and maintain confidentiality.
  • Advanced skills using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Access).
  • Knowledge of GAAP accounting principles and moves management concepts is a plus.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
May include: Stationary position for an extended period of time, traverse campus/facility as needed, operate machinery such as computer, phone, copy machine; exposure to cold or hot temperatures.
COMPENSATION:
The expected hiring range for this position is $67,000 to $96,480/annually, commensurate with experience.
