Tryfacta is seeking a Epidemiologist for our clients in San Diego, CA 92101. This role is an X-month contract assignment.
Pay Rate: $46 - $54
DURATION: Indefinite
Job Duties
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Conduct analyses of surveillance data using applications such as R, SAS, Microsoft Excel, Access, and visualization strategies such as Geographic Information System (GIS), including preparation of tables, graphs, charts, and maps. Prepare annual statistical reports and epidemiologic summaries for selected diseases managed by the Infectious Disease Branch. Respond to data and information requests from within the Department, other State agencies, local health jurisdictions, private providers, academic institutions, and the public (sometimes under Public Record Act) following data confidentiality rules. Assist with implementation of studies and analysis of data, including development of study design, methodology, and data analysis plans.
KEY SKILLS/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- A Master's degree is required (preferably in public health or a health-related field).
- At least two years of experience leading the analysis of both qualitative and quantitative data
- Strong history in using the local surveillance system, WebCMR, to download and report out communicable diseases and perform data analysis using SASS and SPSS
- Strong understanding of design and implementation of research and epidemiologic studies
- Demonstrated ability to work well independently and within teams
- Experience working in a virtual environment with remote partners and teams
