Compensation and Benefits
- Salary Range up to $46,000
- Bonus Program.
- Flexible working hours are available, outside of scheduled field events, allowing for a half day off every Friday.

Summary of Position
The General Scientist I will conduct environmental reviews of documents submitted by third-party preparers, coordinate with project applicants and consultants for additional information, and serve as signatory on environmental documents for projects with limited ground disturbance. Environmental compliance activities primarily will include reviews of Categorical Exclusions for minor construction projects, pulling maps from various regulatory websites, compiling documentation, and providing technical and administrative support to the project team.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in biology, archaeology, geology, natural or environmental sciences, or related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of environmental compliance and review experience
- Knowledge of environmental regulations, specifically NEPA
- Strong problem-solving abilities and aptitude.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Self-starter, flexible team player, willing/able to work on a wide variety of tasks.
- Proficiency with MS Office suite, Microsoft Teams, Adobe products, and GIS.
Preferred Qualifications
- Additional years of experience working in the environmental services industry.
- Experience working with state and federal regulatory agencies.
- Knowledge of environmental permitting processes.
- Experience reviewing environmental documents for technical and regulatory completeness.
- Experience reviewing and/or writing CEs. Familiarity with one or more environmental regulations, such as biological resources, cultural resources, hazardous materials, Clean Water Act permitting, or Environmental Justice.
