HOW YOU WILL DO IT
Purpose Statement: Lead facility Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs in accordance with regulatory requirements, and, corporate policies, standards, procedures and objectives. Lead facility involvement, and accountability of EHS issues to assure full integration within Plexus' business activities. Direct, manage and facilitate activities to minimize EHS risk and promote sustainability.
Key Job Accountabilities:
- Lead the implementation, and accountability of the EHS management system at the facility.
- Primary point of contact for internal and external customers to ensure expectations are met.
- Lead the department managers, supervisors, and employees with the implementation of safety improvements, minimization of the facility's environmental impact and implement EHS initiatives.
- Ensure EHS aspects and requirements, including legal requirements as contained in codes, laws, permits, licenses, orders, etc., affecting the facility are fully understood and properly managed.
- Involvement in the design and installation of new or altered equipment or processes, along with existing equipment and processes with the goal of eliminating or reducing safety hazards and environmental impacts.
- Provide metrics, reports that support EHS performance and goals.
- Be accountable to execute Plexus' Best People strategy, planning, and ensuring that their employees receive the development, coaching and mentoring required to realize their full potential.
Additional Accountabilities:
- Procure and maintain records, data, or information necessary to verify compliance with EHS requirements. Prepare and submit timely reports and responses to informational request.
- Lead waste (hazardous, solid, bio-hazardous, etc.) handling activities.
- Ensure adequate controls are established within EHS-Management system for Site activities that can potentially affect compliance.
- Identify opportunities for best EHS management practices, with particular focus on sharing best business practices across the region and global EHS team.
- Manage the development, maintenance, implementation, of EHS policies, procedures and responsibilities.
- Lead/direct activities that will stimulate and maintain employee interest as well as improve EHS performance.
- Manage the facility incident investigation process to ensure incidents are reported in a timely manner, and identify root causes and track corrective actions through closure.
- Manage the facility's worker's compensation program and work closely with human resources, department leads, and supervisors on employees return to work accommodations.
- Lead the workforce dedicated to zero waste to landfills and zero injuries to employees.
- Manage emergency management to include emergency response plans, spill response plans, and maintain response equipment.
- Plan, develop, deliver, and coordinate effective EHS training to promote a strong EHS culture.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Education/Experience Qualifications:
- A minimum of a Bachelor's degree is required; a Science-related degree is preferred.
- Five (5) years of related experience is required; Seven (7) years of related experience is preferred.
An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the key job accountabilities may be considered.

Work Environment:
- The work setting should consist of a manufacturing environment with suitable lighting, comfortable temperatures, and a moderate noise level.
