Responsibilities
What you'll be challenged to do:
TranSystems' Philadelphia, PA office is seeking Entry Level engineers to join our growing staff and support our work as follows:
- Participate in structural engineering assignments under the direct supervision of a senior engineer.
- Perform engineering calculations, structural analyses and prepare CADD drawings as required.
- Take part as a member of a field crew on structure inspection assignments. Take photos & measurements; produce sketches.
- Operate personnel lift equipment, climb ladders, install traffic control devices and other work in support of inspection activities.
- Assist in the preparation of engineering reports documenting inspection findings.
- Other duties as may be assigned to meet business needs.
What you bring to our firm:
- Bachelors degree with a concentration in structural engineering from an accredited engineering curriculum.
- PC literate: Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, CADD (AUTOCAD or Bentley MicroStation)
- Ability to clearly describe observations and convey information with sketches and technical writing.
- Actively engages multiple perspectives when solving problems, seeks to learn from peers, and encourages reciprocal learning among team members.
What we'd prefer for you to bring to our firm:
- Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering licensing exam (EIT) preferred.
- Opportunities for travel.

Work Environment:
- The work environment characteristics and physical demands described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include ability to adjust focus.
