PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assembles or installs equipment or parts requiring simple wiring, soldering, or connecting
- Performs simple or routine tasks or tests such as tensile or hardness tests; operates and adjusts simple test equipment; records test data
- Gathers and maintains specified records of engineering data such as tests, drawings, etc.; performs computations by substituting numbers in specified formulas; plots data and draws simple curves and graphs
- Assists technical staff members in fabrication, integration, testing, operation, maintenance, and repair of electronic circuits and mechanical packaging including the development of electrical and mechanical prototypes
- Performs design tasks requiring the application of CAD equipment; designs projects such as simulation, printed circuit boards, and electronic and electrical assemblies requiring development of schematics
- Performs on-site installation, troubleshooting, and testing of products and equipment. Provides technical support to customers on operational or maintenance aspects of system equipment
- Executes test procedures, test plans, test reports, and procedures to maintain lab facilities and calibrate test equipment. May conduct engineering tests and experimental testing
- Follows procedures for the maintenance of laboratory facilities and equipment including cable diagrams, equipment schematics, and configurations to support various system arrangements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Three (3) years of professional experience in installation, troubleshooting, repairing, and/or testing of any major system/equipment
- Demonstrated experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Experience with fabrication, integration, testing, operation, maintenance, and repair of electronic circuits
- Experience with on-site installation, troubleshooting, and testing of products and equipment
- Knowledge of Computer Aided Design (CAD) software such as Inventor or Solid
- Possess a current Department of Defense (DoD) Secret security clearance
- Excellent analytical and research skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Associates degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Systems, or Electrical Engineering
- Three (3) years of experience supporting DoD or Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Programs
- Understanding of NSWC operations
- Experience with on-site installation, troubleshooting, and testing of products and equipment in support of DoD programs
- Demonstrated experience with CAD software such as Inventor or Solid Works
- Proficiency with fabrication, integration, testing, operation, maintenance, and repair of electronic circuits
