Overview
Monitor the automotive mechanical tests in assigned area (including bench and/or rig testing), record all pertinent data, make necessary adjustments/repairs to assure that test parameters, methods and procedures are met and report problems to appropriate party.
Responsibilities
Know, understand, and consistently adhere to established safety policy and procedures. Maintains up-to-date knowledge of changes or additions to safety procedures and assist in safety training activities as required.
Monitor and service all automotive and mechanical tests in assigned area and record all pertinent data.
Ensure that all pertinent information is routinely communicated to the appropriate (i.e. internal customers, team members, supervisors, etc.) parties.
Utilize supplied documentation and perform all tasks as required. Such as test services, engine installations, engine removals, engine disassembly, oil samples, emission measurements, and data recording, etc.
Performs all aspects of test operations under the supervision of engineers including build, set up, test plan execution, and data collection of developmental engines, transmissions and vehicles ranging from simple to complex technology.
Selects, installs, calibrates, and checks sensing and data acquisition equipment.
Assist in the troubleshooting of test cell and test electronics, hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanicals.
Monitors critical functions of engines and equipment while operating test cells.
Carry out standard preventive maintenance as scheduled and complete proper documentation.
Keep work area clean and organized.
Use hand and power tools responsibly in a proper and safe manner.
Participate in and assist with the continued personal and group/area training process.
Ability to routinely lift 75lbs and move heavy loads.
Ability and willingness to work a rotational shift schedule: 7:30am-3:30pm; 3:30pm-11:30pm; 11:30pm-7:30am
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
High school graduate or equivalent combination of experience and education.
Demonstrated mechanical experience or aptitude.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:
Technical training – Degree or Certifications.
Associate degree.
3-5 years of mechanical or technical work experience
