Aerospace Mechanical Engineer Technician, Junior

We have an exciting opportunity to join us in supporting one of our valued customers as an Aerospace Mechanical Engineer Technician, Junior to work out of Ft. Eustis, VA.

Essential Duties:

• Assist in structural test set-up and execution, aircraft mechanical component modification, and sheet metal mechanic support for both standard and non- standard systems and subsystems
• Assist in setup, rigging, and instrumentation support at turbine engine run cell for data collection.
• Assist in setup, fixturing and rigging, and instrumentation support at a ballistic range for data collection.
• Utilize basic working understanding and knowledge of hydraulic system functions, operation, and maintenance in an industrial environment.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and electrical schematic.
• Assist in troubleshooting, problem identification and analysis in area of expertise.
• Utilize experience with common airframe repair and mechanical fabrication tools to support the structural testing of aircraft parts and components.
• Use common powered and non-powered hand tools.
• Assist in providing technical expertise and design input.
• Additional duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

• Two (2) years’ experience providing aerospace/Mechanical Engineering technician support in aviation related environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, and Outlook).
• Possess enough experience and general knowledge to work independently once being assigned the task and basic facets of the assignment are known and understood.

Education/ Certification:

• Technical degree in a mechanical field of study from an accredited institution OR Two (2) additional years of experience may be substituted for a degree, for a total of four (4) years of experience.

Required Clearance: Clearable (Ability to Obtain)

Travel: 10%
