Summary:
This position is responsible for managing engagement(s) with external partnership program(s) that support the vision, scope, and administration of the Cancer Service Line. This requires a collaborative effort with multiple stakeholders, both internally and externally. The scope of this role includes managing the staff, development, program delivery, and quality control and evaluation for successful external partnership engagement(s). Exemplifies the Rush mission, vision and values and acts in accordance with Rush policies and procedures.

Job Responsibilities:
- Manage and lead highly complex, system-wide external engagement(s) with partner(s) to advance the mission, vision, goals and strategies of the Cancer Service Line.
- Serve as the subject matter expert and key point of contact for internal stakeholders and external partner(s) in all aspects of engagement management, including but not limited to:
oIndependently representing RUSH to external partner in meetings, presentations and site visits
oUnderstanding contractual obligations of partnership, and ensuring that RUSH meets deadlines and deliverables of contract(s) with external partner(s)
oUnderstanding financial obligations of partnerships, and managing budget life cycle for partnership
- Support contract development and negotiation with external partner(s), including scope development, budget review, and approval process facilitation.
- Support planning and execution of annual strategic planning process as it relates to external engagement(s) with partner(s), including system-wide and high-visibility strategic initiatives; assist with strategic development of new external engagement(s) with partner(s).
- Mobilize, manage and provide consultation to interdisciplinary teams in order to define deliverable structure and content; facilitate buy-in of proposed solutions from top leaders at client site; align partnership projects with institutional goals.
- Interface with departments across the system to solve problems, remove barriers and ensure adequate resources and tools are provided to support external engagement(s) with partner(s); includes working with Legal to ensure requirements are met related to contracts, regulatory standards, policies and procedures.
- Facilitate and lead complex strategic discussions with senior leadership both internally and externally related to external engagement(s) and their impact on the business, clinical and academic missions of the system.
- Act as a thought leader in the development and implementation of external engagement(s) with partner(s), with awareness of the rapidly growing, highly competitive market.
- Recruit, hire, manage, and oversee training and orientation of staff member(s) to support engagement(s) with external partner(s), as needed.
- Instill a sense of accountability among team members by modeling tight oversight of individual and organization performance standards.
- Attend meetings and events, as needed.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in public health, public policy, non-profit management, or related area.
- Master’s degree in healthcare administration, business administration, public policy or related area.
- 5 years of program management experience.
- Demonstrated success developing and evaluating external partnerships, including successfully operationalizing programs.
- Strong project management skills managing complex, multi-faceted projects resulting in measurable successes and program growth.
- Strong planning and implementation skills, including problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of multi-functional, multi-organizational teams.
- Demonstrated results in managing through complex systems and proven experience negotiating win-win agreements.
- Experience working with multiple stakeholders who may have conflicting priorities, including internal and external stakeholder groups.
- Experience working with diverse teams.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with exceptional attention to details.
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Prior experience working in Cancer administration.
- Supervisory or management experience.
