The Program Engagement Manager (PEM) is responsible for designing and developing Girl Scout programming. The PEM will deliver opportunities throughout the council jurisdiction to enhance the troop experience by offering programs to complement the national program portfolio and addressing the needs and interests of Girl Scout members.
This is a full-time, exempt telecommute position. Benefit eligible, including medical, dental, life, long-term disability, 11 paid holidays a year, 12 days of vacation (4-day work weeks), 3 days of personal time, and 12 days of sick, all earned each year. ACCOUNTABILITIES
· Design, budget, execute, and evaluate Girl Scout programs in both in-person and virtual formats for girls in grades K-12.
· Coordinates and manages large council events and program offerings to align with the Council's strategic goals.
· Collaborates with the entire Program Engagement team and other council departments to assist with developing and implementing all large-capacity program offerings.
· Uses ingenuity and possibility thinking to expand the program curriculum.
· Assists with the coordination of volunteer-run Council day camps throughout the Council.
· Ensures programs are progressive and provide opportunities for all girls.
· Researches local and national girl trends to develop programs accordingly and coordinate resources to deliver high-capacity programs.
· Develops programs that a Girl Scout Troop Volunteer can administer without the assistance of Council staff.
· Provide support and guidance to troop volunteers in implementing the national program portfolio.
· Assists with collecting and analyzing program evaluations to ensure that membership needs are met; addresses issues; modifies or discontinues programs as needed; assists with outcome survey implementation.
· Cultivates internal relationships with the Community Engagement Team and external relationships with community organizations and businesses to promote involvement in programs/events and possible sponsorship opportunities.
· Creates and maintains a database file of community partnership organizations.
· Meets and set contracts with community partners which will include program length, program cost, the minimum number of participants, hours of the program, type of program being delivered, and defined expectation of community partner site.
· Creatively look for ways to improve our program offerings by partnering cross-functionally with community organizations and business leaders who will provide expertise in our program areas.
· Participates in department budget development and operates all assigned cost centers at or better than budget.
· Builds and maintains relationships with volunteers to ensure a high-quality experience for every girl.
· Completes all required documentation in an accurate, thorough, and timely manner.
· Supports grant development and implementation.
· Meets or exceeds all assigned departmental goals and works to support the Council's overall goals.
· Ensures Girl Scouting is open to all girls and adults by delivering the Girl Scout message of pluralism and diversity to members of the Council.
· Provides professional and quality customer service to members, volunteers, staff, and other community contacts.
· Collaborates with other departments as needed.
· All other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
· Required Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products and databases.
· Ability to work independently and effectively collaborate with council teams.
· Experience speaking to large groups of people in a professional atmosphere.
· Strong time management skills to maximize productivity and adherence to performance goals.
· Strong verbal and written communication skills.
· Possess the ability and willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings/weekends. Ability to travel as the job requires.
· Willingness to perform tasks that involve the ability to exert light physical effort which may include some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling objects and materials of moderate weight (20-25 pounds).
· Must be able to meet the transportation requirements of the position.
· Understanding and accepting the Girl Scout promise, law, beliefs, and principles.
· Willingness to become a member of Girl Scouts of the USA.
