Employment Specialist - Full Time
Hiring Range: $24.94 - $30.55 per hour

The Employment Specialist coordinates with the client’s AOP clinical treatment team and provides ongoing individualized support to the client to maintain employment and continue to enhance their employability. The Employment Specialists will report to the Supported Employment Supervisor and manage a caseload of 20 clients.
The Employment Specialist improves the operations of KMHS in support of its stated mission and provides the highest level of customer service to internal and external customers.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assess clients’ work history, skills, training, education, and personal career goals.
- Providing Information about how employment will affect the income and benefits the consumer receives because of their disability.
- Providing job preparation skills such as resume development and interview skills.
- Assisting clients in creating and revising individualized job and career development plans that include client strengths, abilities, preferences, and desired outcomes
- Assistance in locating employment opportunities that is consistent with the client’s strengths abilities, preferences, and desired outcomes.
- Outreach/job coaching and support at the work site as required
- Lead job related classes to a group of participants.
- In addition to the above, any other responsibilities appropriate to the position and not specifically listed in the job description.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, social services, or behavioral health field AND Two of more years of relevant experience OR Four or more year’s relevant experience OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
This position requires driving clients in a personal vehicle on behalf of the agency; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a motor vehicle history check, possess and maintain a current, valid driver's license in the state of Washington, and have reliable, insured transportation.
LICENSURE: Agency Affiliated Counselor Registration.
EXPERIENCE:
Supported Employment staff must have at least one year of demonstrated experience and ability to provide services that will be performing Supported Employment services meet one of the following criteria:
a) Be a certified employment support professional by the employment support professional certified council
b) Be a certified rehabilitation Counselor by the commission of rehabilitation counselor certification
c) Have a Bachelor’s degree or higher in human or social services from an accredited college or university and at least two years of demonstrated experience providing supported employment or similar services
d) Have four or more years of demonstrated experience providing supported employment or similar services.
Preferred Qualifications:
EXPERIENCE: Experience in co-occurring disorders treatment, individual and group therapy, vocational services, or substance abuse treatment.
