Employment Specialist – Youth Adult Transitions Program (YAT)
Hiring Range: $24.94 - $30.55 Per Hour

Join our team at Kitsap Mental Health Services (KMHS) as an Employment Specialist for the Youth Adult Transitions (YAT) program. As an Employment Specialist, you will collaborate with the client’s YAT clinical treatment team to provide personalized support to Young Adults aged 18 to 24 in maintaining employment and enhancing their employability. Reporting to the Supported Employment Supervisor, you will manage a caseload of 20 clients, with half drawn from the YAT program pool and half from the Supported Employment waitlist.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Support the development and implementation of trauma-informed and equitable policies and Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients' work history, skills, training, education, and career goals.
- Provide information to clients about how employment may impact their income and benefits due to their disability.
- Offer job preparation support, including resume development and interview skills training.
- Assist clients in developing and revising individualized job and career development plans based on their strengths, abilities, preferences, and desired outcomes.
- Identify and connect clients with employment opportunities aligned with their strengths, abilities, and preferences.
- Provide outreach, job coaching, and on-site support as needed to help clients succeed in their workplace.
- Lead job-related classes for groups of participants, delivering relevant training and guidance.
- Collaborate effectively with the YAT clinical treatment team to ensure holistic support for clients.
- Maintain accurate documentation of client interactions and progress in accordance with agency standards.
- Stay informed about best practices in supported employment and related fields to enhance service delivery.
Minimum Qualifications:
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, social services, or behavioral health field AND Two of more years of relevant experience OR Four or more year’s relevant experience OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
LICENSURE: Agency Affiliated Counselor Registration.
This position requires driving clients in a personal vehicle on behalf of the agency; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a motor vehicle history check, possess and maintain a current, valid driver's license in the state of Washington, and have reliable, insured transportation.
EXPERIENCE:
Supported Employment staff must have at least one year of demonstrated experience and ability to provide services that will be performing Supported Employment services meet one of the following criteria:
a) Be a certified employment support professional by the employment support professional certified council
b) Be a certified rehabilitation Counselor by the commission of rehabilitation counselor certification
c) Have a Bachelor’s degree or higher in human or social services from an accredited college or university and at least two years of demonstrated experience providing supported employment or similar services
d) Have four or more years of demonstrated experience providing supported employment or similar services.
Preferred Qualifications:
EXPERIENCE: Experience in co-occurring disorders treatment, individual and group therapy, vocational services, or substance abuse treatment.
