ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Fundamental Duties
1. Administers Employee Relations programs including Employee of the Month, Star Certificates, Loss Prevention Awards, Service Anniversary Awards, monthly birthday reports, QIS raffle certificates.
2. Performs a wide variety of secretarial tasks including, but not limited to:
a. Answering, routing, & responding to phone calls
b. Sorting incoming mail and preparing outgoing mail
c. Composing, typing and/or distributing memos
d. Preparing check requests and invoices for payment
e. Ordering supplies.
f. Responding to requests from departments and branches for posters and forms.
g. Filing documents and preparing record for and retrieving from storage
3. Enters data on new unemployment claims and base period claims . P rovides documents and other materials to third-party claims administrator. Log and track contested claims.
4. Researches, organizes, and provides case-related documents to Company's third-party administrator of workers' compensation claims.
5. Enters HR-related data (e.g., employee counselings, annual code of conduct affirmations, etc.) into the HRIS. Generates periodic reports from the HRIS.

6. Participates in other special projects and performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, PRIOR WORK EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS NEEDED TO PERFORM JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Superior organizational skills and attention to detail
- Superior competence in use of Microsoft Word plus ability to type 50 wpm. Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Proficient in using email software and conducting Internet researches.
- Proficient in English spelling and grammar.
- Strong verbal communication skills especially over the telephone and to provide effective customer service
- At least one year's previous experience in an administrative support role.
- Experience in using HRIS software is preferred.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Sitting and computer input for extended periods of time.
- Occasional standing, reaching, stooping, and squatting.
- Lifting objects of up to 20 lbs.
MENTAL DEMANDS:
- Paying attention to many details for extended periods of time.
- Juggling shifting priorities
- Patience and courtesy in responding to employees requests and concerns
EQUIPMENT USED TO PERFORM FUNCTIONS:
- PC, fax, telephone, photocopier, 10-key calculator
