TXRX Labs: TXRX Labs is a unique organization. If you want to work here and excel, you will need to understand what that means. We are a non-profit manufacturer and a makerspace. We design, prototype, and produce electronic devices, but in general, we make things, all kinds of things, with crazy creative designers, skilled fabricators, and automated machines.
And we helped create the East End Maker Hub, where we support over 40 other manufacturers - with our people and our tools, with talent recruitment and development like this opportunity you are viewing. We are a community space and invite the public to learn about manufacturing, to use our machines, to start their own business. We even help create new makerspaces - for schools, for companies, and for African countries.
Electronics Technician: We are seeking electronic technicians with high level skills. IPC and WHMA certifications are helpful, but only if you can do the work efficiently and meet the standard. Experience with surface mount automation is useful, but we seek talent that can program and set up SMT machines too. Most importantly, we want problem solvers who have a passion for electronics and an ability to learn new skills.
Electronics technician duties include:
- Read schematics and assemble PCB boards to stated specifications.
- Solder PCB boards to IPC A-610 Class 3 standard.
- Evaluate PCB boards and rework to meet IPC A-610 Class 3 standard.
- Operate, program, and set-up SMT pick-and-place machines.
- Crimp wire connectors to IPC-WHMA-A-620 standard.
- Assemble wire harnesses to IPC-WHMA-A-620 standard.
Modern Manufacturing: Come show us your skills during one of our monthly Modern Manufacturing talent try-outs. If you have the skills, we will hire you. If you have potential, we can train you. If you are a good fit for one of our employer partners at the East End Maker Hub, we will connect you and offer you an employment recommendation and share high-definition photos of your work.
Modern Manufacturing is a two-day working interview and intensive skill training. We provide high-level, IPC certification-aligned soldering and wire cabling training and the opportunity to show your skills. We want to see both the skills you bring and the skills you take with you. What you can do always matters, but how quickly you pick up new skills is just as important to electronics manufacturers.
