Our support to Ames includes facilities maintenance, operations, maintenance engineering, and environmental and emergency services.
We are looking for an Electrician IV to join our team and support our efforts with the installation, maintenance, and repairs of medium-voltage and high-voltage electric utility systems and equipment. This is a full-time union position, with several benefits including job stability, 401(k), Pension, Health, Dental, Vision, 11 Paid Holidays and 1 Floating Holiday, Vacation, and PTO. The rate of pay is $45.91.
Responsibilities Include:
Perform a variety of electrical trade functions such as cutting, bending, threading and running electrical conduit materials, pulling electrical wiring, terminating at electrical panels, set fixtures, outlets, and various electrical devices
Installing and connecting wires to circuit breakers, transformers, outlets, or other components and systems, changing light bulbs and ballasts and testing emergency exit lights for compliance
Work from blueprints, drawings, layouts, or other specifications
Locate and diagnose trouble in electrical systems or equipment
Work standard computations relating to electrical equipment or wiring load requirements
Use a variety of electrician's hand tools, measuring, and testing instruments
Candidate may perform duties of other classifications that have a pay rate equal to or lower than the stated pay rate
Education/Experience:
Education: High School and active electrician apprenticeship
Experience: 1.5 years as apprentice electrician
Skill Requirements: Skills commensurate with an apprentice electrician
Requirements:
Read and understand electrical diagrams and comply NEC/OSHA regulations
Work a standard 40-hour workweek, and remain on-call as needed
Maintain a valid driver's license and a clean driving record
Effectively communicate both orally and in writing, and provide strong customer service skills
Pass a drug screen and background check
Maintain a strong work ethic, and ability to work both independently and as a team member
Have basic knowledge of computer software to attend virtual meetings, send and receive emails, prepare work logs and labor entries, and perform online trainings.
