```Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Instructional Aide to join our team. As an Instructional Aide, you will work closely with teachers and support staff to provide educational assistance to students. Responsibilities:
- Assist teachers in implementing lesson plans and instructional activities
- Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with special needs
- Support students in developing literacy and numeracy skills
- Assist with behavior management strategies and create a positive learning environment
- Collaborate with teachers to create and maintain a safe and inclusive classroom environment
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers
- Help with classroom organization, including setting up materials and resources
- Supervise students during recess, lunchtime, and other non-instructional periods
- Assist with administrative tasks as needed
Qualifications:
In compliance with the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) of 2015 and other related legislation, candidates for this classification must meet the following standards:
-Paraprofessionals who provide instructional assistance are required to possess a high school diploma or equivalent and one of the following:
-Completion of 48 semester units or 72 quarter units from a recognized college or university,
OR
-Possession of an associate or higher degree, from a recognized college or university
OR
-Receipt of a passing score on the District Proficiency Test and the Instructional Assistance Test.
-Graduation from a recognized college or university with a bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- Experience working with children, preferably in a preschool or daycare setting
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and practices
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to build rapport with students
- Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic educational environment
