The Ultra Engineering function manages a portfolio of specialist capabilities, generating highly differentiated solutions and products by applying electronic, mechanical, and software technologies in demanding and critical environments to meet customer needs.
Nationality Requirements
Candidates must be eligible to obtain the relevant security clearance required for the role, due to the nature of the programmes we deliver for our customers.
Job Description
The Electrical and Electronic engineering function in Ultra supports the hardware development lifecycle consisting of requirements analysis, design, implementation, test and verification in order to deliver electronic or electrical components and subassemblies into projects and products.
A professional at this grade possesses knowledge for specific fields and performs structured work assignments. Uses established procedures to solve problems by making judgments and gets work done with quality under moderate supervision. Has limited discretion to vary from established procedures. Writes individual software/firmware functions, designs simple circuits, creates drawings, and/or selects components for completed logical designs.
Required Skills:
0 to 5 years of experience with BS in EE Engineering or similar technical degree.
Ability to obtain a US Government security clearance. Security clearances are granted to U.S. citizens.
Willingness to travel (up to 25%).
Desired Skills:
Strong attention to detail and work ethic.
Schematic entry in Altium Designer
Design, Test and debug Printed Circuit Boards
FPGA Firmware design in VHDL or Verilog
Knowledge of US Navy platforms or common US Navy platforms interfaces
Matlab, Mathcad, Python or other Modeling Languages
Experience with RADAR systems
Experience with SONAR systems
