POSITION PROFILE
Performs various professional and managerial duties related to Economic Development in Duchesne County.
Coordinates development and marketing efforts between governmental and private industry. Works closely with Duchesne County Travel and Tourism and Community Development. Enhance the environment for business expansion and retention and business recruitment. Performs various administrative, marketing, and public relations duties as needed to promote Duchesne County.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Develops economic growth, wealth, and activities in Duchesne County.
- Develops, maintains, and updates informative and analytical materials in order to attract business activities to Duchesne County and to retain current business.
- Work in coordination with DUCHESNE County Commissioners as the liaison between cities, counties, and state and federal agencies regarding Economic Development issues
- Conducts marketing efforts with governmental agencies, private businesses, and private individuals to benefit Economic Development within the County.
- Directs and coordinates outreach efforts and intergovernmental relations; represents Duchesne County in dealings with other organizations, individuals, media, and the general public; develops and maintains effective relationships with state executives and agencies, congressional delegation(s), and federal agencies.
- Directs, coordinates, and assists in internal and external marketing and recruiting endeavors to promote the region in the areas of Economic Development.
- Provide regular reports on all activities to the Duchesne County Commissioners.
- Performs budget preparation and assures compliance with established budget limitations and allocations;
- Makes recommendations to the Duchesne County Commission for printed publications, radio, and television to further Economic Development goals.
- Performs related duties as assigned.
- Write, edit, and administer the Annual Utah Rural Grant Program, working closely with the DUCHESNE County Economic Development Advisory Board.
Candidates will attend and host many community events, including conferences, conventions, business meetings, local stakeholder meetings, community celebrations, and other gatherings of local business leaders. Moderate out-of-town travel will also be required.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited college or university with major coursework in Business Administration, Public Administration, Economics, Marketing, or other closely related field; AND
- Four (4) years of relevant experience in business, finance and or government

- An equivalent combination of education and experience.
